Two important points not covered: Zinc fumes from welding galvanised metal are extremely toxic so it's best to grind off the galvanising before welding. Also, clean the welds and coat with cold galv once finished so they don't become an entry-point for rust.

The car jack, that’s gold as I don’t rate scissor jacks for jacking cars!

Another great vid Tim. I use a stick welder for my fencing. But might have to invest in a mig instead. Looks so much cleaner when the welds are done.

Did he grind of the galvanising as welding through gal can be a pain, or is that not necessary with flux core? What settings were used?

No need to grind with the good quality flux core. Quality of wire makes a HUGE difference.

Tim, great video, this is a Mig welder, gasless using fluxcore wire. What fluxcore wire is he using ?

They are called weld on pins and weld on sockets (wop’s and wos’s) you weld them on so one size.

Hey Tim great info as always, Would a 160 Weldclass welder be good enough for gates and straining posts?.

I’ve recently purchased a Weldclass 140 it’s been a brilliant machine, have had no issues welding on gates and posts up along with all the welding on the farm. Definitely recommend it.

What size kVA generator and what size welder?

Walters are using the MS 180, mine is the MS175. Both Italian made. My MS 175 stals the generator if I operate it on auto throttle or go too long. Walters were running a big diesel job.

Too much machine noise, but good content....

I actually like hearing the generator strain with the load of the welder!
