The cable tie trick is magic! All the years I've had to re poke cables in. Thank you

DIY install complete. Watched the video last night and did the install this afternoon. No surprises - exactly as the video. Most complicated thing was trying to figure out BMW's fuse board layout and icons!! Thanks for posting!

Thanks for the video, it's a really easy install following this and I think I've made probably the best and least intrusive installs on my 320d MSport Touring than I've done on previous cars. Take aways that I had were. 1) The bit of info in your other video about the clips on the plastic trim in the driver door were invaluable because they popped and it was no drama to remove the plugs and reinstall them. 2) Cable ties were only practical to add to the cable bulk across the driver area, where you start there is just too little room to get them in. 3) In the top corner near the driver I had a moment of frustration with the trim getting sunk in when I pushed the cable in.. if this happens then you can fish it back with your finger so be patient. 4) Man that's a tight working space to add the earth connection, I had to splay the prongs from the kit on the cable with pliers to get them to go around the M8 thread but nearly called one of my 'small people' to help getting the contacts in place whilst I tightened it down. Watching again there is more foam structure obscuring the access to this area in my vehicle. Once done I tie wrapped the excess cable in a bunch to this so there are pros and cons.

Really great video however, running the extra blue cable is OTT. The nextbase kit is long enough with a few inches to spare to run the same route...I know because I’m lazy and just did it! Still appreciate this video for the tips tho!

Is it better to piggy back an 'in use' fuse or find a free fuse socket with a supply?

Hi, and thanks for a very informative video. In this vid you use fuse 143 (5 amp) for power but in one of your other vids (BMW 3 Series 2011 - 2018), you use fuse 144 (10 amp). Please excuse my ignorance but can it be either or? BMW 4 Series 420d Coupe.

Thats the exact reason why you need to check the fuses with a meter because depending on build spec, tear, county of sale and revisions not all fuse layouts are the same.

Great video. I would love to try this but knowing me, I'll damage the car and end up with the original dangly cable to lighter socket, less time and money
