  • as one of the slides says ”memories” let’s call it seconds in time that as a audience we buy the tickets 🎟 and we enjoy the shows and performances they are in and every now and then few remind us of what they did and we remember again and enjoy the memories they bring back

The neck don't lie though, huh? 😁
Aging happens, and I guess actors resist it the most since it can effect their ability to get work...

Now if only people would stop paying lip service about older women as beautiful and relevant when a young person validates them (Sarah in this case) and ACTUALLY honor older gals on their own recognition we'll be a less ageist society. Sadly, we are becoming worse about older women than better.
For the record, Sarah and I are the similar age. I'm not old yet. Actialy I'm 4 days off from Leslie Grossman So I'm not "griping as a boomer" lol though I expect those comments to comes. 😉 Jokes aside, this is a legit issue of growing hate, dismissing all old people as garbage with no rights to participate in the world. We should all be so lucky to live as long and be as wise as many of them truly are. They earned the right to be a little cranky hehehe. Life stages and all. It's legit biological development stage and to insult them for their life stage which none of us younger has yet experienced to even criticize, that is the definition of prejudiced.
(That scene in Apocalypse when Coco is talking about us young people with Mallory against "old" Dinah Stevens talking about Hardy Boys. Adina Porter is only a few months older than us and I know Leslie Grossman remembers the Hardy Boys because I know I do. lol That scene makes me lol every time I see it because for a moment I get to pretend I'm Billie Lourde's age group too teehee. But Leslie looks better doing it. She's very pretty.)

@@AF-ge4pe Thanks. :) but I have already begun to notice poor treatment when I go in stores staffed by the young. I get this body language "Ugh. Not an old b/tch." Like how racists sigh in passive aggressive disgust if they have to serve minority customers. (I'm latina/mixed so I know that too.) And they do it before they even get to see I'm super chill. Even if some see I'm super chill they give bare minimum service and run off. That puts me on edge knowing I'm being illegally discriminated against and then (self fulfilling prophesy), I DO turn rightfully btchy at the hateful service. and now they act like "tired of these karens" 😢
I'm actually glad for masks because people mistake me for younger. I drive Uber and young passengers very often invite me to go inside the bars and club I drop them off at. They commonly guess 20s or 30s. Recently an 18yr old thought o was his age lol 😁 The other night old X'er drunk man my age told me my parents must worry for me out there. And told me to be safe and congratulated me for being out there hustling for income. (Very sweet to experience again at my age). I didnt have the heart to say dude I'm 50 lmao. "My parents? 😂"
But I know based on pre mask days, if my young passengers realized I'm 50 when they get in, they wouldn't be so chill with me. On reddit, a Z bitterly complained they hate old passengers and literally said the old have no right to talk to them, asking questions (most passengers do. Driver related questions are a common ice breaker questions) and said the old people should shut up.
That's how racists talk about minorities! 😱
If they knew I'm 50, I know I'd be mistreated by young passengers and rated poorly for daring to talk to them. It saddens me because thinking I'm young, they're super cool to me and I think they are too. 😢
Sorry for the long post. I really think it's an age thing. Hehe

@@C.Church this sounds so strange to me that I can't decide if that's just your insecurity about age or if young people where you live are trash. I really don't know what it is.
I do know that teens in America are a bit wild and entitled tho. To me you're fine I mean if they are being immature it's gonna come back at them in the end. Youth isn't forever and age isn't really something something to brag about and think you're superior.... we all go through every age after all. Don't let them get to you...

    • @C.Church
      @C.Church Před 2 lety

@@AF-ge4pe Thanks. But remember the case of the redditor who said they should not have to talk to older people. That's hate online. Last month at a different video a young Z randomly said (not to me) old people are all trash who did nothing for the world, were lazy and entitled and should be ignored. At a David Hoffman(? He uploads old footage from decades ago) video one Z suggested all XYZs should be abusive to boomers since they deserve it. That's hate. Over the recent years before covid, at different sites, milennials and Z have ruminated in serious "problem solving solutions" that boomers should literally die to free up jobs. (?! That's hate ) In different parts of the internet I saw that. You cannot deny there is a general belief spread among the youngest adults that the world is worse than it was (not true) and they are left with a pile of mess to clean up because (the way privileged old white men talk) the old days were GREAT and prosperous.
Older people reminisce. When I was young I remember they did. But we knew there were bad times too. But for some reason there is an unfortunate pervasive mistaken belief today that the reminiscing is blanket true and everything was rich, safe, and prosperous for all and we ruined it just in time for the youth. We fixed nothing.
That's another thing. We are accused of all having it great AND fixed none of the problems. But how did we have it all so great if there were problems? Makes no sense.
You can't deny it. It's all over the internet. That informs the worst of the young how to treat their elders even if they don't realize they're being bigots.
I appreciate you. Have you seen Fried Green Tomatoes from the early 90s? Kathy Bates. She is a dumpy older housewife living an unappreciated, empty life looking for basic respect. About to park her car at tue store, hot young women speed in and steal her space. They were super mean in making fun of the situation about how they were younger and faster. So Kathy Bates crashes her car into them. It was a triumphant scene. I was 21yrs old and I rooted for Kathy Bates as did most people. Sadly I fear that scene today would beget names of Karen and calls for those young women to record her, file for damages and try to even get her kicked out of her house "Let her see what having less money is like."
I dunno. Have you seen that scene? I'd like your modern POV if you have.
If not that's cool. We don't come to CZcams for homework lmao
