  • Last night I took part in my local Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament, using Red Dragon Archfiend. We got 2nd places (joint) with a 3-1 record, 8-3 in games, which I’m really happy with. My best record over the course of the tournaments I’ve played in, and I’m glad I can do it with a rogue deck like RDA.
I’ll be working on a combo guide for RDA soon to show some of the plays I used in the tournament which will come out in 2 weeks time, followed by fortnightly Yu-Gi-Oh! content going forward, with deck profiles, combo guides and top cards for decks.

As someone who has played RDA since its release, I will share my decklist with you, as well as possible alternatives, in case it is too expensive or you need more cards. It is a 52-card deck, the ratio is amazing, and in 99.9% of the games, I am getting the cards I need
    Main deck:
    Monsters:
    3x The Bystial Lubellion
3x Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring
    3x Soul Resonator
    2x Crimson Resonator
    2x Vision Resonator
    2x Synkron Resonator
    2x Bone Archfiend
    1x Obsessive Uvualoop
    1x Wandering King Wildwind
    1x Zalamander Catalyser
    1x Skull Meister
    1x Bystial Saronir
    1x Bystial Druiswurm
    1x Bystial Magnamhut
    1x Centur-ion Truder
    1x Centur-ion Primera
    1x Centur-ion Gargoyle II
    Spell Cards:
    3x Crimson Gaia
    3x Stand Up Centur-ion
    2x Resonator Call
    2x Triple Tactics Talent
    1x Foolish Burial
    1x Terraforming
    1x Called by the Grave
    1x Absolute Powerforce
    Trap Cards:
    3x Infinite Impermanace
    3x Skill Drain
    1x Anti-spell Fragrance
    1x Centur-ion Phalanx
    1x Etude of the Branded
    1x Branded Beast
    1x Red Zone
    Extra Deck:
    2x Red Rising Dragon
    2x Scarred Dragon Archfiend
    1x Red Dragon Archfiend
1x Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Bane
1x Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss
1x Hot Red Dragon Archfiend King Calamity
    1x Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend
    1x Dark End Dragon
    1x Kuibelt the Blade Dragon
    1x Bystial Dis Pater
    1x Centur-ion Auxila
    1x Crimson Dragon
1x Tirshula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
    Side Deck:
    3x Effect Veiler
3x Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion
    3x Nibiru, The Primal Being
    1x Red Rising Dragon
    1x Red Dragon Archfiend
1x Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss
    1x Red Supernova Dragon
    1x Vagnawa the Moon-eating Dragon
    1x Centur-ion Legatia
    Optional cards as alternatives:
    2x Assault Synchron
    2x Fiendish Golem
    2x Sychro Zone
    1x Wandering King Wildwind
    1x Bone Archfiend
    1x Vision Resonator
    1x Resonator Call
1x Branded Regained (not recommend - as you do not want to have cards that are banished for Red Zone and Dis Pater)
    1x Red Zone
    1x Fiendish Chain
A small explanation of the deck. You have 3 different engines that work perfectly together. With these cards, the only issue for this deck is Super Polymerization; any other boardbreaker is fine. You can even play when the opponent slaps you with a Nibiru - at any point in the game. The Resonator engine helps you build the dark synchro dragons with 2 negates and a destroy with follow-up effects.
The Bystial engine stops your opponent (in case they play Light or Dark) or extends your play.
The Centurion engine helps you get to the Calamity lock super easily because of the Crimson Dragon.
It might be an option to give it a try for the deck list I have. So far, I have had no issues with Unchained/Yubel, Fire King Snake-eye (maybe I got lucky), Purelly, Dragon Link, Heros, Runnick-stun Fur Hire, Marincess, Rescue-Ace, Branded - any combination, Swordsoul, Ashened etc.
    My recommendation :D
    Anyways great video

I’ve looked into the centurion engine a little bit with RDA, and I admit, I’m intrigued, I’m just missing the entire engine and crimson dragon unfortunately. I’ll still take a good look through all of this, because I’m always looking to improve, and I’ll definitely be posting more RDA profiles in the future especially with new support and as I get better. Thank you for watching and your advice, it’s really appreciated.

I like this list, but personally, I would prefer playing the pure version bc Bystials and Centurions aren't the best extenders. Yes they do allow you to establish huge boards with major negates and a higher chance at OTK, but at the cost of adding several bricks that cannot extend if you get Hand trapped. Plus the focus of this Deck really isn't about Calamity locking, it's usually about the 1 card starters and breaking boards while OTK'ing quickly. Not trying to be a hater, this is just my personal viewpt on these 2 engines in RDA

@@anthonyvenedicto518 everyone’s entitled to their opinion, you’re cool, never thought you were being a hater at all. You argued your point well, my viewpoint is is that Calamity is one of the most broken effects, and if you get chance to summon it from putting 6 cards in the deck plus Calamity in the extra, then I’d take it and run with it. However, I fully expect Calamity to be banned in the next list, which means we’ve got about a month of this profile before I switch to a more board breaker pure resonator/fiend list, with added crossout protection from hand traps.
I see deck profiles as ideas. I’ve watched a number of profiles, and settled on something I like by combining multiple of them. This is me giving the bystial option a voice to those who want to know what to do with the last few slots of their deck.

You can play Bystial control if you add more Bystial cards. What’s in your side deck?

    • @BuxtonneTCG
      @BuxtonneTCG  Před 2 měsíci +1

You could yeah, but I just wanted enough bystial’s to be able to reliably summon King Calamity, but keep the heart of the deck being RDA
As for the side deck, I’d go with a bunch of cards for going second, so 3 cyclone, 1 duster, 3 nibiru, 3 veiler, 2 droll and then 1 each of Saronir, Baldrake and Branded Beast because they’re really useful for slowing down branded players especially, which I have a couple of at my locals. Starting with a bystial and banishing a fallen of albaz always feels good.

    1 crystal wing synchro dragon

It’s one of my favourites too. I had him in my terribly created deck when I was young, so when they released the new support I was all over it.
I think with your set up, I’d be worried about getting locked out of a couple of cards there. The Brionac, Black Rose and Crystal wing dragons all get locked out of early in the combos, but can all be good if you avoid getting locked out. Scarred Dragon Archfiend is so powerful too, you might want to look that up. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah it’s pretty poor, but I didn’t have anything else to go instead. Void Ogre Dragon would be the better call, but I don’t have it yet. Unless you just need damage. Thank you for watching.

@@BuxtonneTCGVoid Ogre isn't great either. You want to play the deck with a lot of hand traps, and that conflicts with Void Ogre. If you really need a level 8 dark dragon, Dark End Dragon is an option

      @BuxtonneTCG  Před měsícem

@@Harmonic14 agreed, another good option. It is however, far more expensive for a card which is unlikely to be used all that much, and I do want my decks to be fairly budget friendly both for me and my viewers. @Harmonic14 FR, I'm looking into grabbing a DED for my RDA deck. I do agree with your view on VOD. There are just so many resources and hand traps that this Deck relies on, and at that pt, VOD becomes a useless beatstick.
