this was the lesson where I finally felt the poi's momentum as an extension of my hand, if that makes sense. Felt like a big breakthrough :) Thanks for the lessons Drex! I really appreciate them

I have been spinning for a number of years.(Fire, LED,staff, sock) I started 17 yrs ago with an instructional VHS tape and there are some more complex moves I wasn't able to master. I became frustrated and stopped. I've started again with new equipment that has nylon cords - what a difference from the chains! Thanks to your videos my skills have improved drastically and I've finally mastered some of the moves that eluded me years ago! In addition you've better explained some of the basic moves that come as second nature to me in a way that I can better teach friends that want to learn too; also referring them to your tutorials. Thanks again for being such an amazing instructor!

awesome vid, just a thought though you said the poi went into reverse spin which could be confusing to some people because it actually stayed the same direction. your body just turns to make it seam like it's in "reverse". I know you know this but a less experianced spinner might try to change its direction. awesome video though!

how important is it to learn the split time variations at the same time that you learn the same time ones. there a lot harder for me

This video is so helpful... But no matter what I do I just cannot master turning towards the native side with the forward spin... I just can't come out of it with it spinning in reverse on the outside of my elbow, it always winds up spinning on the inside... it's all I've been doing for like two days straight and I these little balls got me so frustrated!!

I just started spinning poi about a month ago. That said, i had no problems learning the reel turns. The thing I'm having trouble with from this video is going forward to reverse in the native direction (poi in right hand turning right). I had no problems learning the non-native (right hand turning left). Anybody have tips? it just feels counterintuitive and i keep hitting myself in the head, which obviously is not ideal.

I understand your frustration!! Other spinners make it look sooo easy right? Then you try and bonk yourself & have to untangle your lines, meanwhile hoping nobody saw you!! Keep at it! You WILL get it! Practice lots and have fun with it. As long as your having fun- then your doing it right! Best of luck to ya!

Anybody got any tips to execute split time tricks? My brain just gets an error when trying to do different movements with both hands.🥲
