Learn the basics of poi spinning! 3-beat weaves are perhaps the most recognizable poi trick of them all! They’re also a huge hurdle for beginners to cross, but I have three methods here for breaking it down and making it easier to learn.

BRO WATCHING THIS IS FRUSTRATING AS HELL BUT I AM DETERMINED TO LEARN THIS
I hope you got it!
I used to use nunchucks as a kid and found three beat weaves second nature, maybe pick up some foam cucks? Might find them easier to three beat.
I’m having the hardest time 🫠
Ich übe es gerade mit Schleier Pois und bin am verzweifeln. Irgendwann wird der Knoten platzen, ich bleibe dran😊
watching you and playpoi on acid is life changing!!!
Omg this is the best tutorial ever 😍 My friend taught me how to do 2 beat weaves today and I wanted to learn 3 beat weaves but I just didn't understand what I had to do so I looked up this tutorial and only had to watch until 2:00 and I instantly knew what I had to do 😍😍 I JUST LEARNED 3 BEAT WEAVES IN LIKE 5 MINUTES THIS IS SO AMAZING 😂😍😍
Ich bin so neidisch.
Greatest tutorial ever for this basic move
I will try
Thanks, drex, you are saint! I now realise that I've not been doing the single beat on each side and that was completely ruining my timing! Again, you are an absolute gem!
My pleasure! I'm glad the tutorial was helpful :)
Omg this move has infuriated me every since I took up poi two years ago, got it down after watching this guide. Thanks drax
"This is how that's gonna work:
"You're never gonna let your hands uncross again into wheel plane."
*gulps*
(Thank you so much for this!)
Thank you so much, I've been following this playlist since beginnings and I shall watch all other videos. Thank you very much ; easy and very clear your instructions
FINALLY GOT IT! I was overthinking until I tried your methods. Can't wait to show my friends.
Thank you! I love you! The spinners point of view in slow motion helped so much
Yay! I got it so quickly using the second method, thank you!! What a relief after failing at windmills for the past week 😅
Thanks for all of these videos. Def takes me a lot of practice to get but it eventually always clicks.
Thank you so much for this one, Drex! I *got it* with technique #2 !
so helpful thanks drex!
your tutorials really are such a great help! thank you so so much! :)
Finally managed to do 3 beat weaves after a month of trying. Didn't have too many problems with the exercises for 1 arm, but couldn't put together. Thought it may have been easier to start on non native side, so tried this for few days. Not sure whether this helped or not, but eventually got it working starting out on native side. Loved the beginner tutorials and going to spend a few weeks practising all the moves now.
what amazing teaching gift you have Drex - Surely you should be teaching teachers how to teach x
so helpful can't wait to start practicing these
This video is fantastic! I am learning and practicing flogging and there are no good videos out for this that I can find. Poi is the same thing just different toys.
Kept trying to build up to these and couldn't seem to do it... until i just tried to do it all at once and it suddenly clicked. Thanks!
Omg. I finally got it. Still hit myself a lot. But got it. Just need to keep practicing. Thank u. Took 3 days
Amazing tutorial.
Great work again - thank you very much 🙏
As a beginner I thought I was doing fine until this video, this is really challenging for me. 🤧 You are a great teacher though!
Thank you! I’ve changed my techniques for teaching since posting this video-maybe this will be a better fit for you: czcams.com/play/PLGRWu2f31dFXZWmlsMZJk9eueRol6n_Hg.html&si=EhA59KB9Dh4HZGzc
@@DrexFactor Thank you so much!!
Made it through the series :D thanks Drex for teaching strong fundamentals for beginners, helps a lot later.
For sure! If you'd like to extend your knowledge a little further there's actually an extended version of this series available through my website that includes flowers, stalls, and waistwraps as well! drexfactor.com/content/introduction_poi

this was so shockingly easy thanks to yoy
Thank you!!!!
I love you Drex
That helped so much.
Thank you!!
Hey thnks for the vídeos!!
What playlist do i have to watch and learn next?
The second method worked best for me. Still hit myself a lot with my poi, but eventually got it going for a minute or two.
Excellent! Yeah...unfortunately you can never tell which method is going to be the a-ha moment that makes it come together for someone, so I included all the ones I know. Congratulations on getting the weave, though! I think this is one of those first big mountains to climb for many beginners :)
thank you a lot, now after i watch this video i can do it now. it's really works.!!
So glad to hear it! Keep up the great work :)
yes, thank u.i pass the performance in school:-)
I can't seem to get it. I don't understand how to get my right hand on top for some reason. Always my left
Could you start your trick videos with a 10-second full speed of the trick? Lots of us dont know a trick by it's name
are you from nzl and I tot learned something today
But what should the bottom poi be doing? As soon as I try to start spinning the bottom poi it’s ruined again. The rhythm isn’t there anymore
Drex is a Wook 👀🔮✨💓
Am I correct in thinking the leading hand gets an extra strike on each side? 5 beats in total with 3 from the leading hand. Effectively a 2 beat weave with a final 5th beat from the leading hand. Immediately switching to the other hand leading and taking the extra 5th beat.
Awesome video, I hope to get the move down
If I'm reading this right, then the total should be 6 beats (3 from each hand and a total of 3 on each side). The leading hand does indeed get an extra strike on each side but the trailing hand still gets 1--so 2 from the lead hand and 1 from the trailing hand=3.
Is it weird that 3 beat is more Easy for me than 2 beat?? I started off in flow doing rope flow. Now I'm trying to learn poi. I think the 3 beat translates better for me from rope flow to poi.
Same and I started with hoola hoops. If you do other flow artd your brain is prob hardwired to understand this stuff & translate the muscle memory ... at least I think so!
I can not get this move I have tried all three ways all I do is tangle and hit myself. This is infuriating.
Please use a mirror else it’s always opposite for us and so frustrating
I can do it!
OMG for the life of me I cannot do this. I have been trying to learn this move for almost a year and I'm so over it
