Great video, love breakdowns of the different CPUs since they don't always make sense.
I can't believe its working! keep it up! Shared everywhere! You deserve it!
A lot of great work for such a small channel! You earned my sub!
Turns out I was already subbed :)
Great stuff. Subscribed.
Went from a i5 8600k + 16 GB RAM to 7600X + 32 GB 6000mhz RAM - helped me get rid of stutters and freezing in Warzone 2 - Also newer games start to used more RAM, Warhammer Darktide is using up to 17 GB atm so defo worth the step up
Which resolution and GPU are you using?
Yes would like to know what your running and at what resolution
Just gone from a i7 8700k, 16gb ddr4 3200mhz, 1080ti, gen 3 nvme, Win10 to i7 13700k, 32gb ddr5 6400mhz, 1080ti, gen 4 nvme, Win11 and have not noticed any changes with regards to stutter as I never had any. Also no games I played before got near to using the 16gb available. Still got to update my gpu to take advantage of the extra performance once things settle down in the market and we have some clear ideas on price/ performance of the latest gens.
What version of Windows are you using? You obviously had a clean install of Windows when upgrading. A bloated OS can have a big impact when gaming with regards to stuttering.

Just went from an HDD to an SSD, it work so great now. I can boot my windows xp in less than 2min. Thx. Great video.

Thanks for the review. I will go for a Ryzen AM5 build for my next upgrade because of the platform longevity..
For a budget build “poor” 😂 you have gained a like and a sub my good sir
Great Video!!! Would you do the same content but for ITX build only?
Definitely! I’m an ITX builder myself 😁
nice video man :) I am going to get a 7600x and for the motherboard I am looking for B650E versions. Problem is availability
One question: on what resolution did you make your gaming test? I hope it's 1440p... ?
Over the top video, the best one I've watched so far! Thanks for this starting charts that really helps understanding the performance to choice relevance :)

@PC Blend, I have a question you might be able to help me with. I recently upgraded to a 4090 set for 4k gaming 144hz , I need to upgrade my CPU. I am currently running Ryzen 3600 from an old build (was using a 5800x3d which fried upon upgrade in possible faulty motherboard. (another issue and story in itself which isn't totally relevant to my question). With budget not an issue should i look to buy for max performance in 4k 144hz and possibly 240-360hz 1440p gaming, Intel13900k, Ryzen 7950x or wait for the new am4 x3d launch? other than gaming i use it for music production in ableton live 11 using multiple hardware and software plug ins. audio a big focus? what motherboards with this in mind would be the best suited for either upgrade in your opinion?
I can help here, I currently use a Ryzen 5 3600 and a MSI RTX 3060 Ventus 2X 0C with 32GB RAM. I use FL Studio and I would say the most important upgrade is having a solid processor when it comes to music production. However, I would stick with Ryzen personally just due to the price difference.
Hi sir can you create a pc guide on heavy sim racing because the market is flooded and I can't decide what brands should I use
You can actually go realky low if you are willing to go through some trouble. Look for a b450 board with updated bios(they are really cheap rn), and pair it with a r5 4500. Only 70-80 bucks and it absolutely stomps the i3 10100.If you are patient and willing to write some emails asking if the bios is up to date, you can get a cpu mobo combo for the price of a 5600g. With that combo you can make a px(excluding gpu) for 300 bucks.
Delicious vid
MIster you forgot also important for CPU to mention which is == Cooling, which one is best for which CPU ^_^
3:04 I’m very surprised you didn’t recommend the 5600 non X for the budget build as it matches the X in every way and costs the same as the 5600G, and has twice the L3 Cache at 32mb compared to just 16 mb with the G. Another thing worth mentioning is the 5600G doesn’t support pcie gen 4 so a B450 motherboard would be a very good option for it. Great video with very good information. 👍
Good shout. I used it on my last build and the 5600 non x is excellent value, 4.75 ghz with a bit of tweaking

Sure! I need to clean it up first 😅
I like to build a PC every 5 to 6 years. Is this the best time to buy during the holidays for deals or should I wait 6mo.? I will be buying the latest greatest parts for my rebuild gap.
So, with the 13700k recommendation, if you need to save a bit, absolutely skip the DDR5 ram, unless you’re doing some pretty niche stuff the difference is so minimally it’s not worth the extra cost.
Your thorough breakdown and presentation of the data has gained you a sub. Great breakdown. I am currently looking to upgrade. Currently running a FX-8350 CPU with an RX 580. Thinking about jumping up to a R5 5600x. I have a 32" 1440p monitor and want to game. MW2 is hitting 40-50FPS and i want to bump that up. Do you think thats a good starting point CPU wise?
Cool video, but for productivity tasks you've missed things like Intel quick sync which gives it a massive edge vs amd. Look in to Puget systems for more data on the topic. Hardware Decoding/coding of h265/h264 cannot be overlooked when building for video editing.
Thanks, noted!
I currently run a pretty low tier build (Ryzen 5 3600G + Nvidia 1660 super + 16gb ram).. I might have to start looking at Ryzen 5 5600G as an upgrade
idk what cores are, maybe try explaining what cores are in the next video? since you're a starting youtuber put more effort and try making the best content you can and go all in. wishing you success, great video btw!
Thanks for the feedback! I’m planning on making a beginner’s guide series.
Do you think the motherboard has a significant impact on the performance of the system? Currently looking at the 7700x as the AM5 socket interests me but there are large price differences between the low and high end so it's quite hard to choose.
There can be a big difference between ultra-cheap and mid-range motherboards, but not much between mid-range and high-end. Look in the $150-$200 range for the motherboard with the highest number of VRM phases. Not the most accurate indicator but a good rule of thumb in my opinion.
Gskill trident z neo 3200 c16 or 3600 c16 for 20 euro more?ill use i5 13600k. jedec on mobo is 3200 and 3600 needs oc
2:56 I saw that 😂🖕 Why you gotta call some of us out like that
If your are on AM4 the 5800X3D is the best option if you dont wanna switch your motherboard/ram
I've upgraded from 1151v2 socket, literally 2 days ago, got a R5 5600X + MSI B550 Mortar for 400$.
I could've go with 12400 + B660 MAX WIFI (with bus overclock) for 480$, but my GPU is 6650 XT, so AM4 with SAM is the way to go.
For now in my country AM5 CPU (7600X) costs 460$ and AM5 Mobo, the worst and cheapest available gigabyte version - 240$. I'm not asian, but i'm good enough to do maths here and it's 700$ overall. But... i don't have a DDR5 memory, and it's required for both relevant AMD and Intel CPU's to actually perform slightly better than 5800X3D, so it's a 170$ more because 6000 MHz are "sweet spot" for new Ryzen CPU's.
So, i had to choose between "future proof solution" for 870$, and that's just for mobo, CPU and memory, or 400$ to run everything worth playing/doing with no issues now and at least for next 3 years. From previous upgrade i learned that there is no worthy upgrade path on Intel, unless you don't have a good motherboard on B/H/Z chipset (to handle power hungry CPU's), because it's gonna be too expensive for less performance and for higher TDP than newer CPU's. Not to mention security flaws.
P.S. Good guide, but i wouldn't recommend 5600G because of less PCI lanes and cache.

Best prebuilt 4090 i9 13th gen?
I enjoyed these recommendations! I personally decided to go for the 7950X, 64gb DDR5 6,000 cl30, and the Aorus x670E Extreme. I was really tempted by the 13900k's single core performance but buying into a dead platform at this price seems wasteful to me. Having AM5 be supported for the next 3-4 years is a massive benefit that this PCIe 5.0 motherboard will easily support. Cool video, keep it up!
How much did the MB cost? Also what’s the actual difference between the many versions of x670?
@@CDallas US$710. The differences pertain mostly to specific features. Lower end boards tend to have basic features whereas higher tier boards tend to have more and better connectivity. For example, I wanted a full PCIE 5.0 board (CPU and nvme drives) 10gb lan port, USBC ports and spdif audio port. This combination of features is only available on ultra-high end boards. Knowing that AM5 is going to be supported for several years more than Intel is THE reason such an expensive board made sense to me. :)

I just got 12600k(im ussing ddr4 ram and 6950xt) cpu for 250 should I exchange for 13600k?
The 7700x does seem to be the best processor for top tier gaming only, and I was thinking ddr5 6000 cl 36 should be used at minimum (cl32 isn’t far off in price though). The b650 boards seem much better than the b550 boards in comparison to the x series, but I think if building a high end build, going for the x670 is a better long term option. Graphics card should be at least at 6800xt/3080, but they do struggle a bit with games like assassins Valhalla and cyberpunk, next gen will handle them much easier, but worth the extra money is the question…..
U should go for the b650e boards instead
@@TheFina1e I did think about it, but I do want the board to have pcie 5.0 for future graphic cards that will come out in probably 2 years. The Rog strix b650 boards do come with 5.0 slot for GPU exempt for the b650-a which is the white/silver and black board for some odd reason. My case is black and white, so I want to continue that theme. The b650e-f which is the same Board but the color change and does have the 5.0. The b650-a should have the same thing, but does not; which is ridiculous for a rog strix board. So looking at the x670e-a for the same silver/white and black theme and the x670e-f, they are also the same exempt the color change with both having 5.0 of course, but the former is actually cheaper. The difference between the b650-a and the x670e-a in price is about 140 dollars. If it wasn’t for the former not have pcie 5.0 for GPU, I would probably go for it.
The x series boards do come with some nice features as well for cooling and benchmarking that would be nice to have, but could do with out. Basically, I want to buy a motherboard that I can have for years to come, and I think the x series boards will also have longer longevity. Realistically though, It might not really matter…..

@@6enic Nice prices and wise choice. I didn't picked the 5600 because in my country it costs more for unknown reason. Maybe logistics.
I understand where you’re coming from with a lot of your assertions, and agree that a current gen CPU (or 5 series last gen if it’s all you can afford) is the best option when also weighing couple gen old 9 series processors. I do not, however, agree that component pairing is “crucial” for the vast majority of people. If someone wants extremely high frame rate 1080p gaming (200+ fps) then the pairing is crucial, but most people will likely be looking towards a 1440p monitor or have a low refresh rate 1080p one. For the general population, the bleeding edge of high end CPUs and RAM can be sacrificed for a higher end GPU, and that’s because most people don’t update their builds every other year and will get more value longevity wise out of the GPU.
@@pc_blend Correct, which I would say matters even less for people gaming at higher resolutions or building a PC to last. I'd say that having decent DDR4 3200, a 5600, and a b450 motherboard would give the average user more than enough for now and going forward. The longer a person uses a PC the less the RAM and motherboard will factor into performance expectations, especially if they bought a CPU from the latest or 1st gen back when they built. More than likely, individuals who spend less liberally on their PCs will build one to last several years, and for those people I would say put the lions share into the GPU to get the max value and buy a modest CPU (5600/x).
i am building a pc i have rx 6800 but idk which cpu is best with that gpu i am looking at 5600x its looks pretty good cpu at 178 euros

Very interesting charts showing that 5800x3d is behind all Ryzen 7000 series CPUs in gaming where I think its not fully true. There are some games where 5800x3d is behind but taking average it should beat 7000 series. Its worth to mentioned that if you prefer games which are able to fully utilize additiona 3D cach you should go with 5800x3d cause there is no better CPU right now
As mentioned in the video, 5800x3d bottlenecks 4090. The charts that you've seen elsewhere were probably tested with 3090/ti. I'd argue even if you are not going to buy a 4090, it would still be worth it getting a 7000 series ryzen over 5800x3d just so it can keep up with future graphics cards like mid-high end rtx 5000s.
@@aviralrastogi ok. So you are telling me that if I pair 5800x3d with 3090 I will get better results than 3090 with Ryzen7000. However if I pair it with 4090, ryzen 7000 will be better. I absolutely despise the 5800X3D. It's more expensive than the i7-12700K that offers you 50% more cores, 30% more single core perfomance, PCIe Gen 5 compability, DDR5 RAM support and integrated graphics.
Currently it's so overrated and expensive for what it is, of course, for people with AM4 can be useful, but a friend who plays Cyberpunk 2077 obtained a bigger FPS and productivity upgrade going from his Ryzen 7 1700 to the Ryzen 9 5900X instead of the 5800X3D.
If the Ryzen 7 5800XD is 240 dollars, that would be a solid budget choice for a budget gaming PC, for now, it looks stupid even compared to an Alder Lake 12600K i5.
