In this video, I'm going to show you how I paint a pair of polymer clay earrings, using acrylic paint. I hope this video inspires you to create something new!
This video helped me so so much!!! I want to start painting my polymer clay with acrylic but I wasn’t sure how the gloss would work on top of the paint instead of directly on the clay
Sorry, I’m so behind on comments! I don’t usually sand my pieces, unless the edges really need them. And these were not sanded before painting. I hope this helps you! ❤️
I have not painted any pieces before baking. I find it easier to paint after the clay hardens, that way I can handle the clay as much as I need to without messing up the shape.
I usually paint my pieces after baking, depending on the design. To get the imprint on the earrings, I used a texture sheet from the craft store and pressed it onto the clay before cutting and baking. There are tons of texture sheets and rollers out there now. ❤️
Hi🙋 I'm From Bangladesh... I also want to make earrings like this...but i Don't Have an oven😥😞. So tell me how to make??? And i use homemade clay So will that work?? 😓🙁
Hello. Would you happen to know of anything that I could actually dye the clay with (mixing the color into white or translucent clay rather than just topical applications)? I've heard that it could be done but with what, I just can't find out.
@@greatestoftheseco7473 i havent used glaze yet and was only trying to apply paint in my piece (baked). I noticed that my paint is quite thick though, not the consistency of what yours look like in the video.i was using folkart multisurface in pale yellow. what kind of brush would you recommend? and also, is synthetic brush better?
@@greatestoftheseco7473 I use shift color paints and metalic paint over wooden beads and after it dries I use varathane. I imagine I could do the same thing over baked clay. What do you think?

sanju hernandez I’m so glad it helped! ❤️❤️
Beautiful 😊💗👏🏻 thank you for sharing 🌷🌷🌷
I hope you make more videos! This really helped and inspired me
That makes me so happy! ❤️
You're so artistic!
Its wonderful.
So cute! 😍
Does the Sculpy glaze just dry, or do you need to bake it or use a UV lamp?
The glaze does not require curing. It dries on its own like a glue.
Great video. After you bake, do you sand then paint or just paint? Thanks in advance💓

So the earrings are already baked, and then you apply the paint. What if you paint something on unbaked clay, then bake it, will that work?

You da best!
No, you are!!!
So beautiful🥺 May I ask do you paint a sealing layer over the acrylic paints afterwards
Thank you! I do seal the paint with a sculpey gloss glaze, after they’re all baked. 🖤
@@greatestoftheseco7473 Ah okay…thank you!
Please show how you get the paint to adhere to the clay.
Hello! I just paint the earrings after baking, and let the paint dry. ❤️
Thanks for the video. Do you paint it before you bake? And how do you add the print onto the earrings? Can you share please? :)

Yes! You can use alcohol inks! I am working on a tutorial for that, and it will be coming very soon!
@@greatestoftheseco7473 thanks!!
How to keep the result streakfree? Mine just keeps getting a lot of brush streaks.
You might need to use a little less of the glaze, if that’s what is causing streaks. Or another type of brush may help as well....

Hi! Thks for e beautiful video! I would like to ask if the acrylic paint comes off when u apply the sculpey gloss?
I’m so sorry, I’m just now getting to comments. The paint does not come off, as long as you allow it to dry first. 😊

After painting what ur using? That white colour?
I am using a sculpey glaze. www.joann.com/sculpey-clay-1-oz-glaze-1pk-glossy/10795821.html Here’s the link for the one I used in the video. 😊
@@greatestoftheseco7473 tq😇
How long do you let the paint dry before putting glaze on? Thanks.
Thx. What do you use to glaze?
I use a glaze that Sculpey makes. You can find it in the clay section, at any craft store.

Can I use water colors?
Judy Wael I have not tried watercolors, but I’ll have to test it out for ya! ❤️
Are u still making and selling these? Is there a website?
I don’t currently have these in stock. You are welcome to check out my website though! greatest-of-these-co.square.site/ ❤️
