    This video helped me so so much!!! I want to start painting my polymer clay with acrylic but I wasn’t sure how the gloss would work on top of the paint instead of directly on the clay

    Does the Sculpy glaze just dry, or do you need to bake it or use a UV lamp?

    Great video. After you bake, do you sand then paint or just paint? Thanks in advance💓

      Sorry, I’m so behind on comments! I don’t usually sand my pieces, unless the edges really need them. And these were not sanded before painting. I hope this helps you! ❤️

    So the earrings are already baked, and then you apply the paint. What if you paint something on unbaked clay, then bake it, will that work?

    • @greatestoftheseco7473
      @greatestoftheseco7473  Před 4 lety +2

      I have not painted any pieces before baking. I find it easier to paint after the clay hardens, that way I can handle the clay as much as I need to without messing up the shape.

    • @greatestoftheseco7473
      @greatestoftheseco7473  Před rokem +2

      I usually paint my pieces after baking, depending on the design. To get the imprint on the earrings, I used a texture sheet from the craft store and pressed it onto the clay before cutting and baking. There are tons of texture sheets and rollers out there now. ❤️

    Hello. Would you happen to know of anything that I could actually dye the clay with (mixing the color into white or translucent clay rather than just topical applications)? I've heard that it could be done but with what, I just can't find out.

    • @greatestoftheseco7473

      Yes! You can use alcohol inks! I am working on a tutorial for that, and it will be coming very soon!

    • @greatestoftheseco7473
      @greatestoftheseco7473  Před 3 lety

      You might need to use a little less of the glaze, if that’s what is causing streaks. Or another type of brush may help as well....

      @@greatestoftheseco7473 i havent used glaze yet and was only trying to apply paint in my piece (baked). I noticed that my paint is quite thick though, not the consistency of what yours look like in the video.i was using folkart multisurface in pale yellow. what kind of brush would you recommend? and also, is synthetic brush better?
