I spent 6 years with my person. We used to listen to your poetry all the time. She passed away last November. This poem breaks my heart into pieces, it’s unbearable it’s suffocating how much I love and miss her.

Hi Heather, idk if you’ll ever get this reply, but I hope you’re doing as ok as possible. My person passed away 6 months ago & I used this poem at his memorial because it was so…us. It’s both healing & deeply painful to re-listen to it now & again. It’s kinda nice to know someone else out there is making it through where I am right now. Wishing you hope, comfort, & resilience.

I want to thank Nicole Mieczkowski for being my angel of the get through. On that day when she posted on FaceBook describe how you feel in one word and I responded suicidal she stopped what she was doing and listened to me. Because of her kind actions I got through that dark day and now I have had my surgery, I am engaged to a wonderful, beautiful woman and for the first time in my life happy. We all need an Angel of the Get Through. Nicole, thank you for being mine on that day.
You have saved me in so many ways, over so many years… I wish you such love and such peace young lady… blessed be… peace

my wonderful dietitian at my residential facility introduced me to you. she told me that you reminded her of me. i’m also a queer enby who loves to write poetry. this is the first poem she showed me
I can't begin to express how much I love this! I first came across this poem back in 2015 when i was in such a bad state that i thought i'd end it all, and when i read this piece for the first time, it was so fitting that i cried. it gave me hope. this has been my favorite poem ever since, and now this video made me super emotional. I'm in a better place mentally than i was back then and I just wanted to say thank you Andrea! You're amazing!
