Corners they cut really did do this figure and that fantastic unpainted facial complexion (finally) an injustice.

I love this Nightwing suit but I feel that the figure was executed poorly. I really like the new points system, sounds like a great idea! I was sort of worried about a drastic change but this still fits the brand and sounds like a great way to compare figures with a more precise scoring system
I never miss an episode, I like the new grading system, need to see it in action a couple more times. Seems to make a lot of sense though.

Yep! Year 4 starting off with a bang!
The grading system seems pretty great to be honest. I feel it gives more wiggle room to determine how it compares to other figures from now on, especially mcfarlane and legends. The reuse isn't a problem but when the reuse is not used adequately it creates big problems for consumers and the companies manufacturing these figs. One loses while the other goes down in quality.
Exactly. I will be discussing this reuse thing more extensively in my 25k special. Hoo boy it's gonna be a big one.

I actually almost panicked when I saw that you uploaded a video and I WASNT EVEN AWAKE!! All jokes aside, I really do like that grading system. I used to be able to predict the score you would give a figure basing it off of what I see but now that’s gonna be pretty hard. It’s pretty cool that you’re switching it up. Also, love the new intro!! I might actually get this figure. It would’ve been better if they painted the rotator cuff but that probably would’ve led to some problems like them not lining up. But that ponytail, yes! I wanna see him with some other long haired characters (ones we didn’t see in the video) like Superman from the krypto “two pack.” Stealth iron man is rockin the mullet. I noticed you changed your channel icon! Love it. I’ve always wondered if you’re actually being held hostage by stealth iron man and that’s why he’s in your reviews.🤣 great review! Keep it up.

I don't mind the re-use, but if you're recycling parts the execution on the rest should be immaculate. It just looks sloppy and shabby.

Same also. I appreciate the review. All the flaws helped me realize that they drastically missed the mark on this one.
I like the new system. It can go into more detail to better reflect the value of the figure. I think everything said about Knightfall Nightwing was very fair. Personally I'm skipping this figure as it's not my favorite look for Mr Grayson and when it comes to McFarlane toys, I kind of have to be choosy these days.

I really enjoyed your old grading system why because as a collector the money and time we spend purchasing figures and trying to find the best figure for the price should be critical, where it needs to be critical and complementary where it needs to be complementary
Thank you for the feedback! I'm still me of course, and I am a pretty positive guy. If everything works correctly, this new system will just help me have a bit more wiggle room to give a more accurate grade. But let's see how it goes!
My biggest gripe about McFarlane figures seems to be finally and hopefully going away.
More and figures he's making with the facial complexionunpainted.
I just snagged this NightWing for $15 at my GameStop.

I love the change to the grading system. It does add more nuance.
At this point, the only thing that McFarlane has going for is that he’s actually putting out the characters we want, eventually though that’s going to not be enough. Especially with prices going up the thrill of getting a complete team that doesn’t match up and is cheap reuse is going to burn up all that Goodwill he had from keeping his price low during the pandemic and keeping the display window.
The painted on emblem looks so cheap. I remember during the early DC Multiverse days, Shartimus interviewed Todd and praised him for how he never reused molds. My, how times have changed…
Yeah. Like I said, I really wonder if we would ever have gotten some of those early DC Multiverse if we had to get them now

Nice Review as always! i like that there is a wind of change in the channel, not that it was needed, in my opinion you created the perfect review formula! Anyway i hope that this wind of change will bring some vlogs, dioramas show off, and collection videos.

If we’re getting 90’s Nightwing figures, I really need a 90’s blue and black suit he gets in his own run. I made a custom with the BTB Nightwing with John Stewart arms, but a part of me whants to see how McFarlane would pull it off. But that’s me hoping they give him a new dedicated sculpt…
By my count, Nightwing is the fourth most produced character in DC Multiverse after Batman, Superman, the Joker, and Wonder Woman. Todd seems to really like him, so I expect we will ultimately have every conceivable version of him.
It's not a perfect figure, but I love that blue.

Aside from a few nitpicks I really dig this figure. I'm excited as a Nightwing fan to see one of his lesser known looks get some love. I'm really hoping for a 1st appearance or Disco Nightwing figure.

I usually wait to see a figure myself in hand before I make my judgements on it, as I prefer to experience it before taking another’s opinions as fact… but with your grading scheme and detailed analysis I trust your opinion in your reviews.

Hey, can you give me some tips on how to make my McFarlane Toys Killer Croc pick up my McFarlane designed Batman by the face without using two hands or pinning him against a wall?
The Toddfather did it again, selling a prototype full price, what a hard pass. Reducing the fraction, meaning, dividing the final score of the new grading system 20/25 by 5 to get a final score like the old grading system with 4/5 is definitely an irritating move. But your math aside Jason, this is a 1/5 prototype-like figure, a 2/5 at best! You are giving a detailed and extremely funny inside of the figures i don't wanna miss, but the math of yours, you adorable little geek, is generously miscalculated! But who cares, everybody is doing his own math, right? Exited for the next episode of the 5POA "math class" (wink, wink)!
As always, spectacular content. New grading system is really nice, not that the old one wasn't 😂. I'm wondering if the pony tail is sculpted to the head or plugged in, either way, it seems like a simple job to get rid of it.

i like the new grading system. but if the max a figure can get is 25, how is the final score 4 out of 5? And that seems high for this figure. Also i am shocked how sloppy the paint job is across the board on this figure.

I love your reviews! This figure is another mcfarlane Toys regurgitated 🐕💩 I'm getting really jaded collecting the DC Multiverse line. Todd n Co are Hasbro'ing better than hasbro.
And also to add the figures in DC Multiverse line for the most part don't look like they are all from the same line. At least with hasbro you can tell they are all legends.
I like the new grading system, but I think you went too easy on this Nightwing haha.. I hope McFarlane retires that base body 🫣
I don't mind the base body if they just do something about the boots.
@@5POAFigureReviewsproportionally the legs are too long and the arms are too short. Also the wrists are comically tiny! Those are the main flaws with the buck. For my personal taste, the bubbly looking abs attached to the torso also look awful but that’s just me

Looking closely this Nightwing head looks like a modified Knightfall Tim Drake head. Anyone else see it?
When this line started it really felt like the answer to Marvel Legends. Where Hasbro would reuse the same blank bodies ad nauseam with different deco, and the sculpts tended to be under detailed and stocky, McFarlane figures would have original sculpts packed with detail for almost every release (though admittedly at the cost of some paint), and were more lithe and agile looking.
Now, it's like DC Multiverse line is a bad parody of Marvel Legends. The line had its own problems from the beginning, and has done little to address those problems while also regressing into the same practices and poor product quality that Hasbro offers (or often even lesser quality). That combined with the manipulative marketing tactics and NFTs is really damning. It's so sad to see this from the same company that made Spawn and Movie Maniacs. I've adamantly defended this line for years, but this last year has broken me.
Todd, or whoever is actually making these decisions, clearly does not care anymore.

You are too generous with your rating. I'd say it's a 3/5. Reuse is perhaps a necessity, but McFarlane's blatant disregard for greater detail is a slap in the face to fans.

The painted yellow area on the chest, shoulders, arms, and legs are horrible. All of that should've been sculpted. Would've looked way better and more appealing. Passing on this fig.

You know what's funny I actually had a completely different figure in mind for the rollout of the new system, but then this came in the mail and I felt like I needed to prioritize it because it was new. Ended up actually being a very good start for it LOL
This body is already tired...Mcfarlane is really cutting crazy corners.
Keep in mind Grifter got a fully unique mold. This line is very frustrating...scale is so hard for them.
