Thanks for coming and hanging out in the studio with me this afternoon. Ive got my vintage Greco Les Paul form 1972 here which is being ran directly through my Leslie Speaker 910 and it sounds amazing! Just a handful of audio examples here with mostly clean tones from the vintage Maxon pickups which slightly over-drive the Jensen driver in the Leslie's horn creating a gentle distortion at high velocities. The Leslie cabinet is mic'd up using two Shure PG-81 pencil condenser microphones which are supplied to Cubase. The Leslie speaker naturally emits mechanical noise that can take some players getting used to but I love the whirr-up and slight hum of the motor in the background it generates! This particular Greco electric guitar is almost a direct copy of a Gibson Custom Black Beauty and I purchased it purely because of its looks. I was fortunate enough to discover that this Les Paul copy plays and sounds wonderful despite it costing a fraction of what a Gibson LP Custom does. Like most of you, I am a sucker for vintage gear.
The temperature's are at-last dipping and I feel my energy levels returning to normal as the cooler weather begins to settle in. I am excited to get the ball rolling again with recording on tape in the studio and forming some solid demos. Its much easier to sit down at the drums, piano and organ when you aren't being cooked in the process.
I really have grown to love my Leslie 910 and I am looking forward to trying out new ways of micing it's cabinet and using it in an effect chain.
Thanks for watching and if you enjoyed please be sure to give this video a thumbs up, subscribe and click the bell icon for notifications!

Great to hear a Leslie in action again. Your playing here reminds me of a band called Nektar from 50 years ago check out Remember the Future part 1 and the area around the 3rd section of the LP side 'Falling Down". czcams.com/video/pq7WzAdmwnQ/video.html
