Baby Charly Update

EVMS follows up with Baby Charly's progress since getting her hearing implants one year ago.
When baby Charly was born, she failed her newborn screening test. Her mother, Christy Keane, initially thought it was a fluke, but after several additional tests she learned Charly was profoundly deaf.
Charly’s family worked extensively with ENT and Audiology teams at EVMS to create a plan to install hearing aids, and later, cochlear implants at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters.
