    Thanks for watching! What are some mods you’ve done to your car that you regret?

    Hey Steven, thanks so much for posting this video. It really helped m make a few decisions. As you mentioned, a lot of this is your opinion.. and you know what? It's so rare that people dare to make a modest opinionated recommendation as you have here. I absolutely loved this edit. You've gained yourself a new subscriber for sure. Cheers from Canada, "eh"!

    For appearance and comfort, a good window tint is an excellent investment. I have most of the mods you mentioned on my MK 7 Golf R except for the exhaust and suspension mods.

    Turbo inlet mod imo is worth the price for the part because when I first went +1 tune I drove the car for quite awhile without the inlet mod. I was also skeptical about it really doing anything for my R... but I eventually pulled the trigger on it and it did not disappoint. Unitronic recommends the turbo inlet with their +1 tune and after installing the inlet I can see why. While no real hp difference was noticeable, the power delivery thru the powerband was super smoothed out as compared to before. Less turbo lag as well. I was quite surprised how much of a difference that small part made for my build. I’m stg 2 now

      Agreed, with stage 2 I got a big jump by adding the inlet pipe afterwards. They're not that expensive and anyone can fit it.

    If you are looking for a good intake, I have the "AMS Performance MK7 Golf R Carbon Fiber Intake" (look that up on ecs tuning) and it's great. good turbo noise and it fills out the engine bay nicley

    Air intakes are the worst bang for your buck and they're are those that have found HP loss with the intake you are using. Just use a better filter with your stock intake. Sticking with just APR is a mistake too. The Borla exhaust for 800 is great all around piece of kit. A Burger box with a 45 horse gain for 370 bucks is as cheap as gets HP. If you have the Autobahn with active suspension probably don't need the sway bar but on the lower 2 models the sway bar would be a heck of an upgrade.

      Yeah not sure why he'd cut that from his mod list. Even if he lives in a cooler environment the stock ic is prone to heat soak. Ic is a must on these cars esp at elevated boost levels.

    I haven't modded my R but I'm curious, why do so many ppl recommend stage 2 over stage 1? If we're talking bang for buck stage 1 doesn't require a downpipe and its still a pretty big performance boost. Im also thinking it's less stressful/safer on parts. What's the difference on 0-100, like .3 seconds or so? How much more does it cost for stage 1 vs 2?

    • @skylinedude951
      @skylinedude951  Před 4 lety +1

      that argument can also be made depending on budget.

      some tunes scale with the car, like if you buy the off the shelf cobb tunes. you get an entire library of tunes so its like 600$ or so and you can change the tune based on the mods without paying extra
