This is a 330A with Adams Survivor Plus-SPC (VR HT). Yes, it's very unique. As for the swing-door, this is where it gets interesting. On "ML" and "UL", they tried to replicate an old industrial-freight elevator, so they put a big cage around the elevator, and put custom swing-doors with standard low energy automatic operators you'd find on a regular door (Norton 6300), which are somewhat integrated with the elevator. You can even see the elevator car go up and down, and an old motor (doesn't work). The doors don't have interlocks, so they can be opened even when the elevator isn't there, but they do open automatically once the elevator doors are fully open. They wired the operators to the controller somehow. Schindler probably tied the automatic operator for each floor to the microprocessor terminals that signal the controller to send the signal to open the regular doors for that floor, and adjusted the motor delay on the automatic operators to start when the elevator door finishes opening.

This almost reminds me of the 330yay at Volkswagen in North Olmsted

I was just there today. And I can actually confirm that there was a freight elevator that was once in this building before the Arts Museum moved in.

Title is misleading. I was thinking the swing door was the outer door and had an interlock

Now what may happen if the elevator is put in IS or FS?

Seems that the "cage doors" are somewhat wired to the elevator controller. Very interesting.

I don't really like contemporary art, but I would come here just for this amazing elevator!

Most likely the swing door automatic opener is tied into the elevator door open/close microprocessor on the controller board in parallel. The swing door motor would reversible.

Is there an outer elevator door, or just the gate?
