Seth Green’s (Leo’s voice actor) performance in “Requiem” is one of my favorite performances of his to this day. He gave a lot of emotion in the ending ❤️🥺😢.
No “kids” show has ever made me UGLY sob like this one😭when these episodes came out I was 13. Now that I’m 19 I still ugly sob. The way they laid everything out really slapped me in the feels and I couldn’t get away from it
A lot of fans complained about the fact the majority of Season 4 was built around the Turtles going back in time to save Splinter, in addition to the world, only to have him die again a few episodes after. I can understand that, but the way I look at it is the show is saying that sometimes, tragedy, like it or not, is unavoidable. It's kinda one of those "sad but true" kind of things. Emphasis on sad, because I was in tears when I first saw that scene.
For me, originally Owari was going to be the last canon episode of the series, but "End Times" really was the real end of the show canon.
The show was kid friendly for 2 seasons but after season 2 it became very dark and gruesome

I was so angry that Splinter is dead, but at least have some satisfaction that Shredder is dead.
Shredder believed himself to be a good guy but in the end, he's just a deluded fool who threw away his humanity, killed innocent people and doomed the planet, all because of his petty jealousy.
I freaking loved this finale and this season, also ik some ppl still prob have an issue with this, but if u ask me, all the time travel did was delay Splinter's death, not prevent it
So it was inevitable, I guess Renet knew this would happen.
That Showdown against Super Shredder is Satisfying and Awesome.
I watched when it first aired… and… till this day, it still gave me chills

All I can say is that as this show has stated in the space ark Mikey is a very capable ninja that can hold his own but maturity wise he’s not there compared to his brothers and also because he’s mainly been the goofy one to ease the tension when it’s not dangerous best example I can say is he’s a lot like Wally from Young Justice
Give it some time, in the recent comics, Mikey had shown a lot of maturity and capability.
25:12 it is pretty great and personally my fave. It sounds like a pop song with a sick rap verse. The 2003 just felt like it was yelling at me and didn’t have a groove
Agreed before Tales of the TMNT came along which in my opinion I little more catchy then 2012 I really the detective spyish tone they went
The fact that this is one of the more recent season finales and I can't remember for the life of me how I felt when I first saw it bugs me.
The sad part is that this is the 2nd time that Splinter died to Shredder and the Turtles, April, and Casey witnessed it.

FINALLY! I was sooo waiting for you to see this Episode😱😭 Heartbreaking, seriously. I never expected a TMNT Version to actually kill off one of the main Characters, like Splinter.
Ironic how you always used to say 2003's version was darker than this one🤔😁 THIS is the darkest i ever saw in a TMNT Show (Together with one or two famous Arcs in 2003 of course, bet you know wich ones).
The 2003 is still far darker and on a consistent basis, the general tone of that show is darker and more serious than the darkest and most serious part of the 2012! That said 2012 is still pretty good and it has it's dark moments!
@@PickyPaige I agree of course 👍 But for me, i love all the TMNT Versions equally. EXCEPT the 19's Version. (I've never really watched it tho, so i guess i'll give it a shot as well)
I also loved the new series, 2018 wich unfortunally many people hated on for all the things that got changed, so i just wanna talk about what people missed about this. The Animation was amazing, the Turtles felt even more realistic than the 2012's Turtles. The mostly comedic way of the show (Wich had a reason and purpose) made the finale unexpected and epic. It was done REALLY amazing, a great contrast to the comedic and mostly air-headed behaviours of the Turtles and Splinter troughout the show. They actually had character grows and for once, Splinter as well wasn't designed as this perfect never-failing Master, but instead a father with a tragic past that led him to DESPISE the Hamato Clan and he turned his back on his Ancestors and Traditions. He refused to raise the Turtles like that and they actually never got trained in fighting and infact didn't know anything about the ancient Clans, Splinter's Ancestors or Shredder. He raised them as kids only. It was a great story honestly, sadly misunderstood i guess. Many people maybe tought it was disrespectful or like making fun of this franchise🤔🤷♀️ The 2003 version REALLY was unique as well, for everything you already said about this show, so i don't have to just repeat YOUR words.👍😁 You said it perfectly. The 2012 Version is MY favorite for two reasons; It was the first time i learned about this franchise and it tkinda had a great mix of dark/ mature combined with the more grounded/realistic and NOT superman-like character behaviours for the Team. The 2003's version made you almost forget that the turtles were also only Teenagers, wich the 2012's version made clear.
I specifically read one PERFECT Comment about this franchise and it's series; *"The 19's version's Splinter raised the Turtles as an introduction for this franchise and the Turtles, the 2003's splinter raised the Turtles as Ninjas first, teenager's second, 2012's Splinter raised the Turtles as Teenagers first, Ninjas second and the 2018's Splinter raised the Turtles as Teenagers only"* . So true for me.
People should love franchises for it's unique changes and different displays in series, not be TO focused 😊 The Turtles had the same loyal bond in every Show, that's what's always been important to me.
Sorry for typing so much🙇♀️🙏 As for my mini-book here, i hope it doesn't give you the impression that i'm forcing my views on you, cause i'm not trying to.👍🤗 TMNT has been my childhood love and "Nostalgia Trip" really is acurate for me. Also a little "Easter Egg" for me; You often mentioned how the TMNT Versions never seem to give credit to the 2003's series, wich is wrong 😁 It's obvious but also easy to miss. Whenever they get serious and focused, their eyes are shown as only white, wich in my opinion is definitely hinted as sign of respect for the 2003's serious version. It just matches and makes sense for me😊

The only thing I thought was disappointing was Stockmans defeat. It was more of a joke ala the 1987 series and the 2003 series where he usually wants to be human. It also feels out of place somewhat considering just recently Fishface was left to die. I dunno, Stockman feels like a wasted villain in this incarnation, but prior versions are more interesting tbh. Also notice how Rahzar wasn't there. Yeah... he dead.
Yeah, Raph’s team-up with Fishface in Baxter’s Gambit never went anywhere even though it could have led to a redemption arc. Rahzar despite liking his new form still wanted to be human again when he learned about the Retromutagen and it’s depressing to see him die let alone twice since he only wanted to be normal again ( the guy was an actor who owned billboards and dojos ) and Stockman him being ungrateful about being changed back was ridiculous and had no buildup whatsoever not to mention we never see him again after Owari. These three should have gotten better endings or at the very least better death scenes or character development.
Splinter dying was one of the most heartbreaking scenes I’ve ever seen.

I've wanted a character from the main cast dying to be part of the main story of TMNT, not specifically of this show!

Unfortunately, I agree season 4 finale is underdeveloped compared to season 2 and 3 finales though having the most brutal and mature moments. If anything, I'd be happy if "Super Shredder" and "Darkest Plight" were connected and redone to expand on aftermath.
Shredder has finally become a full demon. Probably it's the scariest he has ever been since first fight and "Invasion". Really enjoyed the moment of Leo asking Saki of his destiny(besides one of few scenes of him acting human)
The peaceful parts are the best in the finale, to me these are the ones showing TMNT aiming for teens and adults just like "Tales of Leo" in 2003 series.
Speaking of executed concepts, what else would you like to see happen in TMNT?

13:34 Jaxblade, I also can’t believe you edit out Leatherhead just drowning Bradford on screen also this finale is where it really feels like they wanted it to be THE last season but I can also see that at the time NICK saw this as one of they’re best shows and said to keep it going one more season hence on why Tigerclaw lives and not to mention when you see it from Ralph’s point of view he was letting Fishface die of (by fish standards) drowning so that’s Bradford, Fishface, Shredder and Splinter that all died and showed all the characters that was introduced one last time, I honestly do love season 5 but man this finale really felt like it was the end especially with that last shot
I couldn't keep everything in the reaction, I was focused on keeping as much of the Splinter Death and Shredder Fight of the two episodes respectively, so other character interactions suffered as a result!
It definitely feels like a finale, in fact S5 has like 5 false finales!

I know I’ve already asked and the answer is probably still no but I HIGHLY recommend the owl house. The season 2 finale just wrapped up and from all that’s happened I’ve come to the conclusion in my eyes this is the perfect show for you but I still understand if you don’t wanna get into it

You should do a 2003 vs 2012 TMNT and compare their versions of characters, theme songs, fight scenes, etc and which ever gets the most points is the definite tmnt series in your eyes just like that one CZcams who compared 1987 and 2003 TMNT

I did not expect to be here early but MAN, these are great episodes to end off season 4. And I completely agree with what you said! A TMNT member dying is the icing on the cake, it makes it so hard-hitting for sure! By the way, can't wait to see your reactions to season 5, ESPECIALLY that one episode called Lone Rat and Cubs (for me that's the most wholesome episode in my book).
Also, I don't know if you're up to reacting to this but it would be interesting to see you react to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Again, it's still your choice and I'm fine either way, I just want to know what you think of it lol

It was really messed up killing splinter it was really sad but he does show up again in season 5 tales of teenage mutant ninja turtles as a ghost and shredder does return sorry don't mean for spoilers just saying but you should watch it.

Requiem is 9/10 and owari is 7/10 it just felt really rushed. This finale would have done better with more time
I don't think that's the issue, it's that it focused on the random lackeys instead of the Shredder for a good chunk of both episodes!
