      @@Ace-xt8lv I don't use Tesla's insurance, cause I've read a lot of complaints about people's rates going up for what it claimed were excessive hard braking and accelerating and other stupid stuff. I'm currently paying ~$160/mo for coverage on my Model Y Long Range.

  • @theElemDragon
    @theElemDragon Před 20 dny

    One thing that i'm kinda surprised by with the refreshed Model 3 design is that it actually passed certification for use on US roads. I was always under the impression that vehicle code made it impossible to put taillights on movable bodywork (i.e. trunk lid, rear liftgate, etc...) without having a secondary set of lights to let passersby know you were there. Unless i'm missing them somewhere.
    And as far as the suspension, I believe all the Model 3's have "adaptive dampers" in that they adjust to how much of an impact the suspension gets from the road to try to help smooth out the ride, which by all accounts the new Model 3 is SOOO much smoother feeling than even my 2023 Model Y Long Range. What the Model 3 Performance gets are adjustable dampers in that the firmness characteristics can be configured to your driving style, whether you prefer a more comfortable ride, or you want a little more of a harsh ride which will also help improve handling around corners.

      It looks good from the outside. The ipad thingy is cool too. But that's about it. For a $50k car, you will expect some level of premium in the interior. Unfortunately, it doesn't feel premium.

      @@showman1438 what is premium in your language? Is that 50k expensive for you or tell me any luxury car for 50k? I don’t want to be mean but i really wonder what people expect a tesla to be lol. I personally own the tesla and using it to do uber here in new york city cause new taxis are only going to be EV’s here in NY, therefore i had to get one. I used to own a Camry xse which was over $38k at the time i got. I had no interest in tesla at first but that was the only reliable ev option with superchargers all over. Secondly it changed my viewpoint, i must say it drivers different than any other ice car, teslas are fun to drive, so smooth and quick. The interior is so minimalistic that at one point you think tesla don’t have any feature at all but in reality it does come with many useful features. In my perspective for 50k you get heated steering wheel, full panoramic roof, dimming mirrors, premium audio system, awd, 0-60 in 4.2 sec meanwhile i got the acceleration boost which made it 3.6sec, you also get auto adjusting seats and steering wheel for easy entry and exits, you get cameras all over so during mishaps you have the proof if you are not at fault, autopilot on highways works like a charm. Hopefully it will last me long run without giving any trouble and i already have 20k miles on it with no extra expenses like oil changes.

    • @showman1438

      @@Tech4geeks21st MOD said “it feels a lot more premium”. It didn’t feel that way to me. I don’t dispute the pros of Teslas. However, it does have cons too, some of which are non-existent in ICE cars. I would expect Tesla to improve on what is already existing, and not have owners deal with problems that have been solved in ICE cars many years ago. As an example, you speak of the glass roof. No doubt it’s fancy, but it causes far more heat in the cabin. The AC is also too noisy, even at regular temperatures like 72F. These issues don’t exist in other cars.

    Seriously doubt if the stock 2024 M3 RWD and LR trims can match the stock 2024 MYP in doing a sharp left at 36 MPH, then an immediate curve to the right, as seen in this clip: czcams.com/video/D_45EO5BauU/video.htmlsi=5kF4SGUUTH9Jt-e_ to urgently clear an intersection safely under yellow. I test drove the 2024 M3 RWD on February 9, 2024 near Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Contrary to you stating "You feel planted to the road with no body roll" in your video, I thought the POS (doesn't stand for Point of Sale lol) was going to roll over when I did a quick left/right maneuver at only 40-ish MPH on a straight/level roadway. For those who qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit in the USA market, it makes absolutely no sense to purchase the inferior 2024 M3 LR trim since the 2024 M3P (with superior road-holding ability like the stock 2024 MYP) ends up costing less out-the-door, my friend.

  • @ronniemullis8717

    The M3 Performance w/Stealth Gray and Black interior is the only one that qualifies for the $7500 tax credit. That is one ugly car.

  • @showman1438
    @showman1438 Před 21 dnem

    Its build quality is still whacked for a $50k car. The fabric on the door feels like it would get torn at any time. The ambient lights are ugly. It feels so close to the ground, and driving it makes you feel so vulnerable. I don't know if there is a solution to this, but the noise from the AC vents is just excessive. Try to turn off the AC for 15secs and see just how hot it gets without rolling down the windows.
    All these I noticed in a 30mins test drive. This makes me wonder why a majority of the CZcamsrs seem to rate the car highly and not point out some of the obvious flaws.

      @@showman1438 I guess you're not used to driving cars with a lot of glass? I always refer to it as the "fishbowl effect". Probably a good part of the reason why people in hotter climates tend to get some kind of sun shade to cover the roof glass in their Tesla. But apparently there is a software update coming at some point soon to not only enable cornering lights (headlights turn to illuminate corners as you turn), but also optimize the HVAC system to make the blower fan run quieter while still keeping the cabin cool.
      As far as "so close to the ground making you feel vulnerable"...... it's a sedan? That's how they are. It's not a copact crossover like the Model Y.

    • @showman1438

      I drive a sedan (2019 Camry). When I sat in the new model 3, I "sank" into the car. Perhaps, there is a way I could have raised the driver's seat.

    • @theElemDragon
      @theElemDragon Před 20 dny

      @@showman1438 Yeah, the drivers seat (and i believe the passenger seat) does raise up with the controls on the side of the seat. This is actually one thing that i noticed that made me think about trading my Model Y in for a Model 3 Performance. When i first sat in a Model 3, I didn't even think about trying to see if the seats went lower, but I knew I hated feeling like I had to break my neck to get my head through the door after sitting in the seat. And with the Easy Entry profile, I could set it to always lower the seat as far as possible and move the steering wheel out of the way to give as much room as possible.
      I wouldn't call the heat with the AC off, nor the volume of the AC a "flaw". For one, while yes, it is loud, it cools off the car much quicker than I feel like any other car I've ever owned. You can also turn it on from anywhere, and already have a cool cabin by the time you get into the car. And like I mentioned, if you're used to cars with a higher glass to solid panel ratio, you're used to it quite often feeling warmer than usual.
