This iron is different from the iron in the amazon link. Which iron should I use for heating painted edges? The iron in the video or the iron in the amazon link?
I have a slimmer woodburner and saw a video of something like this mini iron attched to it for shaping and melting/smoothing flatting plastic. I am trying to find attachments like this mini iron
Can it be used with other edge treatments, such as Tokonole or Gum Tragacanth? Those use heat from friction to "set", so I'm wondering if this can be used too, or if the friction is also needed to lay the fibers down when burnishing?
I find it darken(what we have in this video too) the edge too much. Applying a thinner layer would fix that but then it might not be enough wax. If you dye or edge paint then it wouldn't matter.
BUY THIS ONE: amzn.to/2IJe0el

I also have something like this, but didn't know how to use, so thanks a lot for the explanation
Great tip about the 🐝 wax and paraffin blend I have also had sticky edges and not glossy so thanks I will try
I have one of these 3-4 years for pressing pieces going into a quilt.

I can't seem to find the wax mixture you are using. Where did you purchase it?

I highly recommend using friction for Tokonole or Gum Tragacanth. "only heat" wouldn't result in with those products.
I haven't tried it yet.. would it be ok to use iron, low heat, for burnishing?
low heat doesn't melt the edgecoat. gotta heat up to higher temperature.

I think you wax method looks pretty poor. Just rub it on and then melt it in. Way faster and probably more even
That's also good way. Thanks you Josh for supporting my channel for 4 years!
