    To anyone watching now, Iron hammers require a tier 2 hammer to make so you cant make them with the normal wooden hammer, just make a copper hammer first which only requires a tier 1 hammer and then with the copper hammer you can make an iron hammer.

  • @Ollarion
    @Ollarion Před 11 měsíci +5

    Thanks for posting this! As you say, there's not much information out there about Tetra, so I learned a lot just watching this. I still struggle a bit with what materials are worth making tools, weapons, bows and shields out of, because the amount of options is just too much (especially in a modpack like Valhelsia 5) and it's hard to decide which stats are more important.
    On the note of important stats, I never understood exactly how enchanting works with Tetra. It seems some materials allow you to add more enchants to that part, but I can't tell how high the number has to be to allow more than one enchant. 🤔

    • @Snedglow
      @Snedglow  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Choosing the materials is something I struggle with, too. You're right. Way too any options and it's easy to get overwhelmed.
      I know what you ean. The enchanting isn't something I've fully figured out yet, either. I'll let you know when I have the answeres, though!

    • @Whispitt
      @Whispitt Před 2 měsíci

      If it helps at all ive discovered that each tool part has a magic capacity. When you put an enchant on it itll use up part of the magic capacity. Each module on the tool has its own seperate pool for magic capacity. So youll be able to put unbreaking on one part of the tool, and effeciency on a different part, and have it apply to the whole tool

      I don't really have anything "solid," per say. Just: Go down to ancient debris level (15, I think?) and just slowly start scanning around. You can boost your range and it'll reach about 2 full chunks away, so you should almost always find some if you can in a wave pattern (left to right, up and down.)

    this might come a bit late, but I am struggling with a part of this mod!
    Specifically, I am stuck in the hammer progression and I am unsure what to do to upgrade from a blackstone hammer.
    I found one of the ancient cities, and the hammer block in it. I have seen what I can use to upgrade my hammer there, but all of the upgrades says I need a tier 6 hammer, and the hammer block in the city is only tier 5.
    There's not a lot of info around about this mod from what I can tell, so if you know the answer to this, it'd make me very happy!

    • @Snedglow
      @Snedglow  Před 4 měsíci +1

      @bennie1079 sorry for the late response! I'd be happy to help! Double check the hammer forge has two full batteries in it! There should be two, one in each side. The other two "slots" are where you can add different modifications. I can't remember their names off the top of my head, so I'll have to check later, but the lub thing and the plane thing are examples.
      If you have anymore questions, or I wasn't clear, feel free to ping me here or on discord!

    • @FurryGamer303
      @FurryGamer303 Před 5 měsíci +2

      Yes, you claw it from behind and then can move it, but, if you noticed, there are some of them that are 'ruined' and cannot be used, so you have to find another one where the missing peices aren't ruined. Once you find all of the peices to one of the ancient schematics, you can make a more powerful/customizable stonepeircer/stonecutter/extractor, depending on the schematic, using echo shards. I learned all this recently

      I'll see if I can explain it to the best of my ability here. Basically, though, you shift right click it on the ground and you'll place it. You should then be able to activate the scanner and you just start beating it with a hammer (right click.) You'll see these lines appear in a cone shape. If the scanner picks anything up, it'll appear as orange.

    This mod is so disappointing.
    1 - A lot of effort to get tools just slightly better than the vanilla ones.
    2 - There seem to be many materials and modification options, but the reality is that they don't exist. Many of the materials available provide, if not exactly the same modifications, almost identical modifications with only a slight improvement.

    • @Snedglow
      @Snedglow  Před 8 měsíci +2

      I get that. I look at it this way:
      The tools might be slightly better, but only at first. They have the possability to completly blow vanilla tools out of the water. To your first point, you can immediatly start off with better tools. The simple fact that they don't break is huge in my eyes. So many diamonds or iron saved just by not needing to repair/replace them. Which leads me into my second thought. The repair cost is a huuuuge bonus. You have a diamond pickaxe? Here you go! Fully repair with one string!
      As to your second point, you're right. A lot of the materials only slightly modify the item. However, I find it fun to try an min/max my pick to be the best it can be. The grind to get the specific material I want is a lot of fun, too. Exploring the structures Tetra has to offer is also pretty cool.
      Oh boy. Sorry, I don't mean to do the whole "THESE ARE MY BELIFES! ACCEPT THEM!" thing lol. I just wanted to give you my thoughts.

      @@Snedglow 2 more points to add on to your answer for the second point, looks and availability. For my first point: the materials used affect the color of the parts, so having multiple materials with the same stats lets you have aesthetic options. Lets say you're upgrading to a stone hammer: if you use granite the head will be a reddish color, diorite will be white, and andesite will be grey.
      My second point, availability, is pretty self-explanatory. An example, you want to make a tetra sword from one of the dragon steels from the Ice and Fire mod (out of the box compatible btw), but only have access to ice dragonsteel. Since the 3 dragonsteels take a while to get to and have the same stats it doesn't matter that you only have one kind available, you will end up with the same sword stat wise.

      I really like your arguments, and you make some good points there! I've never played with the Ice and Fire mod, so I can't really speak, on that, specifically. I agree with the astetic aspect, for sure, though. Isn't that what everyone wants, anyways? This is, after all, Fashion Craft.

      @@Snedglow The stone example works for the availability point too, although it's not as meaningful since those stones are everywhere.

    This mod is dumb and confusing

      Lol, what part are you confused about? Maybe I can help!

      @@Snedglow I don't know what any of the attachments do . so for instance my sword I don't know what any of those selections actually do or what should be combined with each other to make the best option . also the confusing thing is repairing . like I did a stub pickaxe like the video out of iron but it can't mine diamonds ? I had to make it a double sided one . Lastly what do hammers actually do , what do I use them on ? Apparently they have to be in my inventory to do upgrades to other pickaxes and things ?

      @LITTLEBRAT775081 So to better see what the attachments do, you can open up your orb by right clicking in the air. The best way I've found to figure out what some of the different blades are/do is to just... Try it! You can make wooden swords and just play around with them. As for certain attachments like, for example, a blaze rod hilt, they all do different things. A blaze rod hilt will ignite enemies (I think, I'd need to double check) but also hurt you a little bit. An end rod will teleport you, etc. You should be able to see most/all of that inside your holo.
      As for what is "best to be combined," the short answer is this: it doesn't matter. I love that fact because I can totally gear my tools and weapons to what I want from them.
      Okay, so onto the pickaxe. The general idea is you need to have a "synergy bonus" from the pickaxe heads in order to mine an ore above your material. Here's an example: if you have an iron pickaxe head on the left, and an iron tool butt on the right, you should only be able to mine iron and under. However, adding a second iron head on the right gives the tool "synergy," which basically gives you a +1. All tools work like that. Hammers, pickaxes, etc.
      Now, into your last question. Hammers are super useful. They allow you to upgrade your tools, but they also let you break blocks inside of the Tetra structures. The forged walls and pillars can't be mined like normal (except with other mods like Ars or something) so you'd have to use the hammer.
      I think I answered everything, but if I didn't, please let me know! Feel free to ping me here or on discord and I'll answer whatever else you ask! (or try my best lol.)
