- Here's another POV video of street photography but this time, in Chicago. I took my Leica M6 while my friend, Gene, suited up with his Canonet. I mainly shot on Lomo 400 and Kodak Portra 400 with my Voigtlander 28mm Ultron.

I personally love watching photography videos with voiceovers on the videos so this was great for me!
That orange shirt and tiles were a nice contrast with the blue dumptruck.
Loved the colors on these photos!
Loved the photos! I think the colors really popped in this session
Awesome Chris
Fun to see Chicagos streets again!
I’ll definitely be making more videos from SYDNEY ✌️
Gotta come back. The loop has been pretty busy recently. State street has a nice flow of people coming from different directions. Hasn’t been like that since pre pandemic.
Not much beats a POV photowalk with a leica M6. :D Great shots!
True! Thanks for the support!
I really dig the blue photo. I'm a few hours south in Springfield.
Great video and great message at the end. Thanks for this. Super helpful.
This was so much fun . Let’s run it back soon.
I would def wanna try my hand at it again but on a weekend!
Loved this video bro. Keep the povs coming
I love your shots
Awesome video Chris. Nice pictures.
Chicago is such a cool city. Those night shots with the flash came out awesome!
I was super stoked they came out too. That swimmer was a cool dude
That’s crazy when you took that photo of the person digging in the sand. I saw the same person when I was on that beach and he was doing the same thing when I took a photo of two lonely beach chairs with the Hancock in the back
i love this pov videos!!
Thank you!
Awesome video man!
Love it! ❤️
Glad you like it!
love it and enjoyed it! thanks for sharing and VoiceOver is pretty nice man!
Don’t know how your so good at zone focusing 🤯
I have never been a big fan of Chicago. My wife, on the other hand, loves Chicago.
I will share this video with her.
The shot at 04:30 with the reflections is amazing.
4:47 in I knew it was gonna be 🔥😄🤘🏽
When I start to run…it’s over
man im so glad you made the switch to a film photography channel. Loving the content...should shoot some tmax400. would love to see what you can do with it
awww thanks! I'm super glad I made the switch too. Very fun to make videos! I should incorporate a little more b&w in my rotation again for street. I love Tri-X for portraits
Fire content as always bro. Love chi town
Thanks, man!
I was out in San Francisco last Saturday to attempt my first street photography and to document the protest regarding women's reproductive rights. I felt good and confident about my photos since it's crowded and photographs are welcome so I didn't fear awkward interactions but it turns out that my film isn't loaded properly in my camera and so, I didn't capture anything about the protest :(
That’s tough…that would’ve been a great event to photograph. Honestly, it’s alright. It’s part of the game. Next time you won’t do that :)
@@whoschrischu yeah i guess it’s one of those experiences film photographer go through haha
Oh dang - it sucks about the film. But trust me - you only make that mistake once! 😅
I enjoyed the POV and you still captured some great images. Question: what flash did you use with the M6?
The photo at 7:30 is everything!
just an explorer on the beach!
Loved it. Come back plz
Will pack my polar suit
🔥🔥
yooo love the way you shoot these videos man and the photos are quality. Just subscribed. I'm kicking things off over here in the south of spain as I am travelling. Hope we can shot together at some point in the future!
nice commentary! its really cool that you sorta gave your thoughts behind every shot. by any chance do you where i can find your film overlays you had in the begining of the video?
thanks! I did an IG poll, and I was surprised that people wanted a voiceover. I think there's some value to me sharing how I don't like most of these shots, and why
Great vid my dude. Reminds me of my last trip to chicago 🥲
Reggie B!!!!! Chicago is a beautiful place (insanely large wedding market too)
Photo at 4:30 is 👌
do you use zone focusing or do you manually focus for every photo? im just starting to get into film photography for my street work and i want to get a sense of what is easier. thanks!
Epic
Sick
How do you do street photography with a film camera seems impossible to me!
Any pointers on how to use flash with film(metering and other tips)?
The M6 have TTL. Easy!
I actually thought the composition of the girl with the tree behind her was good. If the building was behind her it might blend in more so, although if she was against the sky (maybe in an area between the buildings) that would have been optimal?
Beautiful photos, song name?
I'm kind of a noob at photography btw. Are these photos edited or is that what is coming straight from the Leica as everyone who uses the camera captures the vibe I want to get but I don't know whether that is the camera or the editing or a balance of both?
It’s straight out the cam / film stock. I used a Voigtlander lens (28mm Ultron ASPH). For film, the body does nothing for the image; it only provides user experience. I personally like the simplicity and design of the Leica, but it lacks in features where the Voigtlander Bessa series would fill in
if youre new to photography i wouldnt get the leica or a bessa, as they can range from several hundred to several thousand dollars, not the mention the hundreds of dollars you will inevitably spend on film while youre still learning. get a cheap point and shoot or 35mm slr first, they can be found for less than $100 if you look.
@@whateverjustposting agreed
@@whateverjustposting thanks for the extra advice man, I’ve got a decent point and shoot and also decent phone camera. I’m just looking at this camera for the above mentioned reasons.
Are you cropping much? Cause some of these photos don't look like 28mm to me.
1660th view
ok
For the people that look at you as you are shooting...has anyone ever confronted you about taking a photo of them? What do you say in that situation? Has anyone ever told you not to use the photo?
Thanks Chris!
some people have barked at me before! most of the times I just silently walk away at a slightly faster pace (while profusely sweating)
Forreal! I would love to do this type of photography but i don’t wanna be seen as a creep 😅
First
14th!
pls dont add that shutter sound on video! its so lame !
Greate camera, terrible composition...
