Hi mate. Great review of the tank. I bought the exact same one last month and enjoying it. You mentioned about the outlet not being high enough. You can pull it up even more than you have done. I compared yours to mine and mine is only a couple of inches below the water surface.
No way !!! Really ! I just assumed it had to be flush as possible towards the base of the tank , I’ll give that a try mate appreciate the tip ! And thanks for the positive feedback 👍
@@_HarryJ yeah it’s sort of telescopic. There is a rubber ring at the bottom to obviously create a seal and there is another further up the outlet which allows you to pull it right up and still create a seal. I agree though, the water pressure isn’t great and thought there was something wrong at first. Looking at other vids of this tank/filter it seems the norm. Anyway, hope this helps. Enjoy!
I’ve seen some Fluval Shaker aquarium’s online come with a fluval 307 canister filter instead of the 207 , which was included with my tank. Which would you recommend?
Your videos are great, thanks for coming back to this tank and providing some real world experience after having it set up for a while. Can I ask, when it was delivered was the whole cabinet flat packed or just the top trim that you mentioned? And how heavy was the glass? Could you lift it on to the cabinet on your own or do you need two people? Thanks again for the in depth reviews and advice!
Can I ask are the filter tubes going up behind and coming in from the top or are they going through the base of the aquarium glass and if so how is that possible without leaks ?
I've got the Fluval 252 & what my hubby did was turn the grommets around & put the top on the tank so it was level all around at the top but the piece close to the wires is open, so when you put the top on the wires fit underneath & I brought black handles to stick to my lids much easier. I have my tank backed with a U4 pushing pressure around the tank, the head nozzles are high pumping oxygen in with 2 air stones & i have my water below the level as it helps regarding more oxygen. With the U4 & canister i could filter the same tank again with 66L to still do. czcams.com/video/s3dsp6wazIA/video.html
You don't need to buy a brick sized filter just to remove the media inside. Just buy a small powerhead propellor and you can smash the surface really well and works way way better than a spray bar which is another bit of plastic that needs cleaning. Also a powerhead takes up far less room inside the tank 👍

I’ll have to have a play about with it and see how it acts , thanks mate 👍

Why didn't you just use the other side as a template for where the holes should go?

Yes that’s correct and it’s all sealed with proper plumbing by fluval :)

I’ve just purchased the 252 shaker. Your review was useful, thank you. Do you use the app to control the lights?
Yes you do , just download it and connect it to Bluetooth via your phone 👍
Hello mate
I’m thinking to get this tank
I have one question is the heater 150W ?
Thank you for the video 😎👌
You have a new follower 😁
Appreciate the follow buddy , yes that’s correct 150w 👍
So much for 1 watt per litre of water haha even flival claim this is right yet its a 150 watt heater for a 168 litre tank OK 👍
Hello was wondering where u got the flow pump on the left side of ur tank? I just got this tank
I just went into my local fish store and asked for the smallest pump they done !!! :)

Just curious, do you recommend the outlet pipes be submerged or left on the surface of water?
You ideally want them where the water is at it’s highest to break the surface movement and create oxygen
@@_HarryJ legend thanks quick response! Just revamped my shaker and seen a lot of people running the outlets under the water and was curious!
Yeah I was in a dilemma myself at the start too ! No problem
Hey mate, how do you clean the filter and pipes? I’m thinking the water will come out if you disconnect
Cant clean the pipes that are under the tank. Filter is easy to clean, you just stop the flow of water with the lever on the filter.
