In the remaining years of my life, I have made a commitment to undertake a personal advocacy of contributing to the re-greening of the mountains of our country.
I am taking this personal move because I am alarmed at the frequency of the floods and the mismanagement of our water resources which could threaten Food Security.
With only 6% of the country's forest cover remaining, there is an impending disaster awaiting the next generation of Filipinos if we do not do something today.
Green Philippines Advocacy will soon be submitted for registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission as a non-profit organization aimed at shifting the re-greening program mindset from simply environmental regeneration to economic remuneration as well.
Tatlong klaseng pananim lang ang itutulak ng Green Philippines Advocacy at ito ay ang Giant Bamboo, HIgh Elevation Fruit Trees and Industries Trees to be intercropped with either Coffee, Cacao and others.
With the support of friends, the program will distribute for free planting materials which would serve as Mother Trees in all provinces where these are suitable.
The next step would be the introduction of economic enterprises which would provide the downstream activity to ensure the sustainability of the project.
An example of this would be an Engineered Bamboo Processing Facility to turn the Giant Bamboos into housing and building materials.
I would like to clarify that the continuity of this program is not dependent on the outcome of the May 2022 National Elections where I am one of the candidates for the Senate.
Politics will not define my personal advocacies and commitments, although admittedly the inherent powers and influence of a Senator could certainly enhance support for the program.
This will be my legacy for the next generation of Filipinos which includes my children, grandchildren and those who will come after them.

Where is this nursery located po? I bought already 110 pieces of giant bamboo at Impasug-ong bukidnon last april 2022.
