Excellent video. I have not read all the comments. Perhaps this has been brought up already. I think it would be worthwhile, in the video, to recommend taking avy courses. That said, completing AST-1 and AST-2 convinced me that I should go off piste only with an experienced guide

Thanks for watching and commenting and I appreciate the suggestion. This tutorial is a sample from an online course (www.alpinetutorials.com/mountainsafety) so it doesn't quite have all the context here, like recommending taking an avalanche course. Elsewhere in the course videos, it does repeatedly advise this, however. That's great that you've done AST-1 & AST-2, but a shame it has left you without the confidence to go off piste. Those courses should at least give you enough information to understand where and when it is safe to go off piste - if they've just put you off altogether then it leaves much to be desired!

ithanks for your nice video. just one thing: in the austrian official avalenche Information society they say that anchors don't prevent more avalenches, that it is a wrong assumption...

The critical bit is how far apart the anchors are spaced. Only when they are densely spaced do they help. If they are too far apart, they become more harm than good. But if densely spaced, for example in a forest, they decrease avalanche likelihood
