  • After spending four months living in La Ventana I wanted to showcase and share what I would do in just four days. There is so so much I was not able to cover ... still learning how to shoot videos with intention for CZcams. A complete travel guide to La Ventana and all there is to do will be published later on my website hifromashley.com
    Love these videos and want to send Porter and I a small tip? ♡ paypal.me/AHense

    You just warmed my heart with your ending to this video. My wife and I are spending a week with Jamie and Baja Wild Encounters and I wanted to see the area first. You did an amazing job representing the same eco friendly nature and vibe as us. Keep doing what you are doing!

    A friend and I are looking at a possible trip to Loreto and Mulegé in the near future. Am also curious about La Ventana for a possible future trip. A couple of questions: 1) What time of year were you there? 2) Was it pretty windry? Thanks for posting this video with so much great information! I love that the community is coming together to sort through their issues.

      It is really inspiring to see. As ocean tourism grows I have the best wishes for them. Many incredible people living in that town.
      Highly recommend Mulege and Loreto. Mulege is stunning! Jaw dropping water and islands all around. There are places to camp, I believe all are for a fee. Worth it. Loreto is a Pueblo magico town and for good reason. It is quaint, feels like home kind of place. Amazing people. Popular for blue whales.
      I was in La Ventana March - July. The high wind season (for kite surfing) is November - March.

    Surprised at the finish of your video, and really enjoyed your personal thoughts and dedication to sustainability and helping I feel the same way
    Anyway, I sent you an earlier message regarding where I might stay as you did for a month or so in or near la Ventana
    My ultimate goal is to find a place to retire as a single adult male in my early 60s with a limited budget of Social Security and some investments
    Look forward to your reply, and any information you can share and keep up the good work and enjoy
    Steve 😎🤙🏻

      Hey, not sure where you sent the message? If you’re looking for a cheap retirement place Mexico is NOT it lol especially Baja - the prices are essentially the same as California.

    Hey there awesome video. I will be spending two weeks down in La Paz and La Ventana... really curious about where that cove for snorkeling was at about the 5:44 mark.

      @HifromAshley  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Brilliant, you will love the area. And if you’re going out on ocean safaris, every day is a surprise. The snorkeling at 5:44 is near Bahia de Los Muertos

    Ms.Kaye more eyes need to be on your channel and yourself...
    I am very familiar with BCS.. thank you for not holding names and places as a guarded secret..
    La Ventana is an overlooked destination when considered places to stay....
    There are locally owned B&B and hotels as well

      This is a sad reality and something many tourist never learn about. When I was in that area of Baja I also sadly noticed in restaurants locals being served less to focus on tourist dollars. It's not right

    I appreciate your prompt reply to my recent message
    Well, I have been researching retirement in Mexico for several years now and focused mostly on the Pacific Coast, Puerto Escondido, Sayulita, etc. etc
    Although those areas, as have many, many others, become much more popular in the last five years, and let's not even begin talking about the residency financial requirements, Mexico, at least theses areas are MUCH less costly than here in Sonoma County California.
    I am quite disappointed in your " cut and dry " statement that Mexico and Baja / Baja Sur is not a good option for me
    Perhaps you are not familiar with other parts of mexico
    Good luck
    Steve

    • @HifromAshley
      @HifromAshley  Před 25 dny

      First, I said it’s expensive no where did I not it’s not a good option FOR YOU. Second, while you have researched online I have actually lived in many different states of Mexico for over one year and traveled the entire country. Third, recommend actually living in those area to make an accurate real life assessment based off of first hand knowledge and experience not just internet searches.
      Lastly, it should be noted that the areas you noted, if you actually care about sustainability those would be the places to avoid further destroying.
      These areas have not simply “become much more popular in the last 5 years” foreigners have saturated and destroyed these areas over the last two decades. They have gentrified every aspect of life.
      Not only pushing locals and indigenous out of their homes but also changing the natural landscapes aka destroying nature, gentrifying the food and way of life.
