Brilliant video mate. Well crafted and straight forward to follow.
I skipped the step on "turning off the passcodes" on the first go around. My guess is at some point when the iPhone screen "darkened" and locked the iPhone, data restore step failed. However, the android app could not convey that failure.
So my only gripe is for the data restore tool to be more robust and allow for the data transfer on selective and on demand basis.

Really good video! Just one suggestion, once the transfer app says "you can remove the cable", you can do it. It is just before swapping SIM between phones, it is not necessary do it with the cable plugged as you see on the video. Spite of this, wonderful and precise video!!!

thx for your help... quick and relevant question.. the transfer process is a one off unique opp or can be done everytime u plug into the iphone? i do have a battery issue with my iphone so.. not sure if battery can handle the whole process so..i'd love to know if i can do, as an example... first APPS, the music, the contacts.. one at a time to make sure it does not turn off and cancels the process at mid point...thx!!
Good question mate. I have not tried it twice. But I don't see any reason why it would not work.
Can I use my samsung cable and iPhone cable to connect the phone. Where can I get that cable?
So however much I try I can never seem to get to the screen on the Galaxy seen at 4:00
I have no clue what I'm doing wrong if anything.
The only difference for me is that the text under WhatsApp Messenger at 3:50 is different and makes no mention of needing to scan a QR code.
It only says "App will ask for permissions".
hi. thanks for the detailed video. I did everything as shown. unfortunately it did not show the import chat history start screen. Did i make a mistake anywhere. appreciate your feedback.
The only thing you can try is to remove and readd it. If you are having issues contact the WhatsApp support.
Few questions:
- Do you have to factory reset the whole Samsung or just delete whatsapp on Samsung and delete all data (option that shows up when you delete Whatsapp from Samsung)
- i think you can still move the sim to the Samsung in advance right ? Its not a necessary process.

Very good video indeed. It all worked well but...I just realised that I also need to do the same for the 2nd whatsapp account (I have two SIM cards one for home one for travelling). My question is now that I have done the factory reset and did the 1st whatsapp account. Do I know need to factory reset again? that wouldnt work would it? Or can I immediately connect to my 2nd Iphone with the cable without factory reset?
Just to add.. my phone has dual SIM

Thanks for the vid! I don't know why but at one of the last steps of the process I get a message saying that my iPhone is encrypted on iTunes - but it is not. I've checked the Summary tab on iTunes 3 times and the "Encrypt local backup" option is not selected and never has. I've done all the first steps you mentioned at the beginning of the video regarding security, etc. Any ideas? Thanks!
Umm can you try a new backup but make sure its without the encryption ?
Hi Daniel! I don't know if it helps now, but I had a similar issue, found out that the Microsoft Intune app (wich installs a vpn management) was causing the issue.

Hi Thanks, great video. During transfer from Iphone to Samsung stopped after 1,2% with this error massage: "Unable to transfer contents. Insufficient space in memory. You can save your IPhone data to a computer.

Samsung has more than 90Gb free while the Iphone less than 0.5 GB. Whatsapp on Iphone occupies about 8GB. Which memory it referring to?
Sorry to hear. Sounds like iPhone not enough space. Try deleting your deleted items?
Oh man.. the insert sim card from old phone to new phone is the crucial part. I thought I could setup WhatsApp on new phone without Simcard. Since I could retrieve the pin code from old phone. But the Import chat process after with simcard on new device doesn’t showed up.
So, the previous completion data with cable which took almost an hour is a gone case.
yeah , so WhatsApp relies heavily on cell phone number.
@@123myIT Actually I tested that we don’t really need to bring over our Simcard from old phones to the New one. Just make sure to turn OFF imessenger on iPhone first. Then we launch WhatsApp and registered in new phone. Then SMS code will sent to our new phone. This part I kinda messed up cause I didn’t disable imessenge. I used Calling to retrieve Code from the auto-operator. Make sure write it down correctly. Else it’s another 2 hours to resent new code.
Worstly, the SMS code would be 24 hours later.
This took me a couple of Factory reset and few attempts only succeed.
Follow this video tutorial then turn OFF imessenger on older phone at the right step.

Hi, I did everything as mentioned in the video.
But when I choose WhatsApp Messenger from the "apps" options.
It has the description of "App will ask for permission" only.
I'm not getting the QR code option. Can you help?

@123myIT you said backup current data, restore to factory, then migrate whatsapp data/chats. Can the data from that back up be restored without losing the whatsapp migration? Will they merge?

is there a way to do this without getting 2 devices side by side? i mean backing up on a computer then transfering it to android device.. the reason for that is there is a buyback option currently and i need to send my iphone first then they send new android device so i don't have a chance to do this way...
ITs gunna be hard if its iphone to samsung. On Android to Android you could possibly do it. I Would just manually backup those important conversations to email.
i think i misread the vendor's explanation. it seems i will have some time with both devices in my hand...
Smart Switch cannot recognize Iphone Whatsapp app in the matching app list on Samsung. How I can solve this problem?
Make sure smart switch is updated? IT probably needs to be a recently updated version.
i successfully follow every step start from scan barcode till registering, but when looking for backup, it didnt find anything. My samsung has an sd card on it because it says not enough space when it doenst use sd card, may it be the reason the backup is not read by whatsapp?
Could be in which case its still there, but you need to restore from SD card.

Even i have followed all the steps and change the sim card, but it didnt show import chat history, and then after those, it only shows the chats that is entering during the backing up process and not the whole chat. May I know why is this happen and how to get whatsapp to track the chat?

My Android Samsung S20 Fe importing from an iphone 11 Pro Max is stucking exactly between 59%~60% and i already waited more than 24 hours to see if it continues, but, doenst work :(

I tried this method and I received an error message saying ''Can't transfer content There is not enough storage space. Even when I have enough storage space on both devices.
Normally it means there whatsapp is too big for the space on your new device.

@@123myIT of course. It's 256gb. My backup file was around 1,8 gb. It stucks while prepairing the file.
