It's a cute dress. It's just not something you'd wear to impress someone. It's plain and fails to accentuate her figure.

I think so too! I never tried this option and I realized I like it better. She is more herself and walks confidently with it. And I love Cloud's reaction. He isn't stunned like the 3rd dress, just genuinely appreciative of her beauty and daring. His look was so heartwarming. It's perfect.

And if you are asking how I know it's the original dress : her simple ponytail, it's a strap dress, the green jewel on her bow and red high-heels. All like the original. It's the only dress that fit all the details of the old design.

It might happen before its supposed to happen, it might happen after its supposed to happen, or like you said, it might not happen at all. After all, the writers said they want to give the same excitement for people that has played the old game and the new ones. Honestly, id prefer if they changed the story as long as it didnt mess everything up.

Technically she is 23 years of canonicaly dead and saving her would be emotional payback for players that mourn her for 23 years in real life.

I like how everybody is focused on the dresses ignoring the other makeover differences;
In the first it's literally just a pink dress. With one oversized bracelet in one hand.
The second one gets fancier, with two golden bracelets, a golden necklace, long earrings, and matching heels.
Third one they did her hair, changed her makeup (with a more red lipstick), matched her dress bow with her hair bow, with two (different) golden bracelets, a double golden collar, and one star anklet.
Also because I like to mention it for some reason. Painted her nails as red.
The third one was better than the trailer suggested :)

For me I love her second dress the most haha. I LOVE the way her hair is styled for it and it seems so flowy and comfortable while being beautiful at the same time (well, they're all gorgeous on her but that one's my favorite). And she seems the most confident in that one too!

Honestly I wish her second one WAS her KH dress because... I personally really don't like that top and skirt she wears in Kingdom Hearts lol. I think they look so ugly 😅😅😅 but that second pink one looks so lovely on her. It would've been perfect for KH!

I am still on my first playthrough, and have been finishing all the missions. The 3rd dress (the best one) is the one I got for Aerith and the first one I saw. Square really outdid themselves with this game.

It's because the 2nd dress is the remake of her original red dress.
In the 1997 game she chose the dress all by herself, like it's suggested for the second dress.
Which means it's a dress she like.

I know there was a Side mission where some dude wanted me to do something and he didn't wanna ask a girl to do it. Perhaps I needed to finish that? Why do I feel like there's no Guides out there for the Original?

0:19 - Probably most fitting to how she is in this game. OG FF7 she looked and acted a little more mature. This Aerith acts very childish, so a nice and simple dress works for her. In a way it's fun. Obviously not extravagant. Also Aerith's shyness as a bonus, you can figure she doesn't like dawning what looks like a simple night gown especially with how babied she is by her mother.
1:56 - Looks like a prom / homecoming dress. I can't really say much about it. She does visually appear to enjoy wearing this dress compared to the other two.
3:48 - Obviously she expresses distaste in the dress since movement is restricted and she's a center of attention. Aerith, OBVIOUSLY doesn't like being the center of attention no matter the dress.
Also attention to the lack of her hair ribbon, because it's removal makes her look much more beautiful and less cute.
Cloud takes the most liking to this dress, since she looks much more like a woman in it; which Cloud's actions are an indirect complement to her. 4:20

when i first played the game i was rushing through and i got the bad dress cutscene. i searched up why and when i found out i went all the way back to my save in chapter 7 and played until i was at the part where i could do the side quests and proceeded to do all of them. I did all of that just for Aerith’s dress.
