Because it's b3 cowboy opening. Adhiban likes to play it. You can search for various videos regard Adhiban's b3 choice and comments. Even you can past contents Anish giri as well regard this.
But to be honest, in this video it looks like Anish didn't even care about it and already prepared.. no smile or reaction.
Adhiban outplayed Anish in the endgame. It was nice to watch on live stream.😅
More than that it was Anish who blundered under time pressure.

How to get the piece set that is displaying the moves played?
it's crazy how anish got the opportunity to get back into the game at 10:12 , but then gave it all away!
Look at the freakin time , Its very common for Super GMs to get chances like this , but time does not permits them to find it

4:03 Giri almost played . ...g5 with a devlish trap: Nxd5 Ne7. And he wins exchange. But he got cold feet and defended pawn on d5. It is readonable to say that black was stestegically lost ever since he allowed isolated pawn which cannot be defended by his bishop. White focused on it like a hawk on a praerian desert mouse.

Are you sure about that? g5 Nxd5 Ne7 Nf4 Rxd3 Rxd3 Rxd3 Nxd3 (black has no time to capture the knight)now if g4 Nd4 and c3 is saved. black also doesn't gain by capturing c3. if Bxc3 Nxg5 and black has horrible pawn structure
However ...g5 Nxd5? Bxc3!(not Ne7) wins back the pawn and b4 is likely falling.
Why did giri not play g5 then? Bcz ...g5 Rxd5 Rxd5 Nxd5 (not Rxd5 as gxf4 and d8 rook is protected) and white wins a pawn. Now Bxc3 doesn't win a pawn as after Nxc3 d1 rook is guarded.

It's just not after this match that he is called beast. It was given to him by Vishy(not sure) in his early days due to his aggressive style of play

cost of living in India is low so I think that's how even at below 2600 some indian players can afford to still play professionally at that level
@@glen1742 are you even indian? Most below 2600-2650 masters are alloted government jobs, AD works in one too iirc. Even vidit has one i think but he doesnt need to work. It's the governments way of supporting them. Dont think they can make a living just out of chess

Some rookie mistakes in the endgame by Anish. Most of these modern GMs have appalling endgame skills.
adhiban is 31 he is former 2700+ rated gm he actually stopped playing he aint modern he's an og in the indian chess scene
It is blitz where players are under severe time pressure.
With 5 seconds on so on the clock, one might expect mistakes and blunders from any player. Especially in the knight endgame, which is exceptionally difficult for a human mind. Another question is WHY they allow the clock to tick down to 5 seconds. Magnus is more clever, he starts his endgames with 90 seconds on his clock. Wise man!
@@dmitriydruzhinin2032 Modern chess is all about memorising openings up to 20th move, but not really about the art of endgame. Magnus Carlsen proves otherwise - he is a champion, perpetual champion, because he knows the ultimate importance of the endgame, and he mastered every bit of it.
Anish had king and a pawn, and even the basic routine, taught long ago by Capablanca, teaches how to position pieces. Anish had all the chances, but failed and played nonsensical moves.

@Dr.S-ct2bq prospects of chess werent that high most of the top athletes from india in all sports have some bachelors atleast some even have masters and all adhiban just lost interest stopped improving and decided to focus on his job and quit professional chess on the highest level he still plays from time to time but is 2500-2600 only
Please remove the board and the evaluation bar, it really requce the viewing experience. I know some people asked for a flat boad, but its not necessary, and the evaluation bar really spoil everything.
