About 70% of our infectious diseases are Zoonotic. "Medical science is only in its infancy, yet it has shown that our natural diet is that which grows out of the ground. The people will gradually develop up to the condition of this natural food." ~ 'Abdu'l-Bahá, Bahai Faith

Not sure what you mean, but farming is most definitely the cause of zoonotic viruses, & most, if not all, viruses that humans are host to, are zoonotic. We breed animals in numbers that are difficult to conceive & of course, this accelerates the evolution of a virus exponentially. Sooner or later, a single mutation in the virus DNA can enable it to cross the species barrier into a previously incompatible host, maybe directly into a human or through a number of vectors. COVID-19 is only 1 of a significant number of recently emerging viruses....a virus that is highly communicable (although nowhere near as contagious as, say measles) but fairly innocuous. This virus has brought the populated world to it's knees.....now, just suppose it's mortality rate was a relatively low 10 or 15%, civilisation would have descended into chaos.

@@dyschromotopia Exactly, thats why we should stop farming meat and instead hunt for it

@@deeremies2266 You think 7.5 billion people could just go out & hunt for meat? If humans were killed in the numbers that we kill livestock, the human population would last no longer than 3 days.

This isn't true, a number of zoonotic diseases have arisen from close proximity to animals such as from pets and birds within cities.
