Demystifying Zoonotic Diseases

  • In recent years, society has seen many frightening diseases: COVID-19, Ebola, and rabies, to name a few. What you might not know is that all of these diseases have one thing in common: they are zoonotic. In this video, we demystify zoonotic disease as a concept by explaining what they are, how they develop and transmit between animals and humans, and why they have been increasing in prevalence in recent years.
    This video was made by McMaster students Andy Zhu, Jasmine Sodhi, Arina Mojavery, and Sara Ukropina in collaboration with the Demystifying Research McMaster program.
