    ABOUT ME
My name is Indigo Black, you may also know me as Mamata. I am multi-hyphenate creatrix using my hands to beautify the Earth. Some of these expressions are as a world schooling mom of 2 children, a devoted life partner & a chef. I coined the terms Spiritual Anthropologist & The Threefold Impermanence (cycle of [re]birth, sex, and death) as an attendant, educator, and supporter in theses intimate spaces.
On this channel, I will discuss all things related to birth, sex/life, death, raising children, wellness, neurodiversity, spirituality, crochet, and more. I was previously known as Moments of Magick & am rebranding the channel to reflect the new vision of @theanointedhand. I am leaving up past videos that subscribers and viewers found valuable because I want you to have access to that information in case it is helpful for you too.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ):
    Q) What is a birth/death attendant? How is that different from a doula?
    A) A birth/death attendant is a witness and supportive person who holds space for the spiritual, emotional, physical, mental, & psychological wellbeing of pregnant women during childbirth and/or the process of dying. How this is done varies depending on the training, skills, education, or specialties of each worker (the field and occupation of birth attendants, doulas, midwives, healers, etc.) Many are trained through other community members through apprenticeship, ancestral practices, or direct training from someone who has successfully served people in their field for many years.
These attendants understand that change is sacred and trust in your ability to unfold uninterrupted and simply share resources for you to be better equipped for the process through such changes. Such things can be resources, classes, demonstrations/tutorials, physical products, etc. These attendants are not limited to the restrictions & regulations of doula organizations (which coincide to governmental policy and protocol) & typically have a more spiritual & traditional/ancestral approach toward preconception, prenatal, pregnancy, and postpartum care. Therefore, they are free to adapt, claim, and flow because there is no solid definition. Traditionally, in indigenous/native cultures these supportive people were the m*dwives IN SERVICE TO THEIR COMMUNITIES.
A doula does similar work but they are regulated by an institution and are often found supporting those in spaces where governmental policy is enforced such as in hospitals or birth centers. Sometimes these words are used interchangeably by the person so it's important to clarify what the attendant is offering and how they can support you.
