    Thank you so much for making this and linking the products too! I came across this brilliant idea on another app and was searching for how I could do this at home myself. Much appreciated ❤️

    Can I use crystal chips in these? Absolutly love this video! thank you!

      If they aren't sharp, I'm sure they would work. That's why I liked the mosaic stones because they looked crystal-y and they weren't sharp.

    Are these able to be reused/remade again?

    Would you recommend using a UV lamp to quicken up the curing process?

    • @alecaandtim
      @alecaandtim  Před 2 měsíci

      No, I have not tried that. It's really a pretty short cure time, about 4 hours.

    Thank you so much for the tutorial. One question: is the Vaseline necessary? Thank you in advance for your advice.

    • @alecaandtim
      @alecaandtim  Před měsícem +1

      Yes, you have to use a thin layer of vaseline or aquaphore or the pads will be impossible to get out when they are set up. It's the same idea as buttering a pan before you cook a cake. It helps it release from the pan when it's done.

    Can you make these with silicone caulk from the hardware store?

    • @alecaandtim
      @alecaandtim  Před 5 měsíci

      No, that kind of silicone dries too hard.

    Is there a way to make these so the silicone is softer? I’ve seen some rubber like ones but I haven’t found any diy videos for those.

    • @alecaandtim
      @alecaandtim  Před 3 měsíci +1

      These are pretty soft. The softness depends on the type of silicone you use. I think you will find that this silicone is the right consistency you will want.

    Can you do this with Elmer's glue?

    • @alecaandtim
      @alecaandtim  Před 27 dny

      No, that would be too hard when it cured.

  • @NerdIsMean

    Can you do this with a thin layer of hot glue?

    • @alecaandtim
      @alecaandtim  Před 16 hodinami +1

      No, hot glue hardens too much. Silicone is extremely flexible which is why it works so well.

      This is liquid silicone for mold making 20A clear is designed for a working life of about 30-50 minutes at room temperature. If you look into silicone you will find that it comes in classes of consistencies. This one will be a food grade, flexible silicone. I hope that helps.
