    Please continue making videos! I saw that you do not have many, and your videos are so educational. I am an environmental science student, focusing specifically on conservation of natural habitats with a focus from there on birds. I know much about exotics, but have started to turn my focus on the birds of North America, specifically our protected birds of prey. Much of my education will focus on falconry as a sport and how the regulations set forth and the sport itself focuses on protecting these species as much as possible. I cannot get that education in a classroom! I am going to have to receive it through other means. Books are a great resource, but videos and personal experience are going to give me much needed information. I find your videos to be extremely informative and more than helpful!

      +Shannon Baribeau I will continue indefinitely! I'm unable to put videos out on a regular basis, as I'm juggling 3 roles for the company I work for, as well as a law major, (full-time student), on top of ensuring my bird gets to kill each and every day.
      So I publish things sort of sporadically. Stay tuned though, and best of luck with your very interesting endeavors!

    What's the range. Does it go from the bird to the receiver or to a satellite then to the receiver and how long does the tx battery last

    it works in wide open plane fields... show how it works at the mountains like here in switzerland.. or in city or town... technically its nithing else than that what every small drone has with it... and a flight controller software on the tab... just you cannot control but only see or "read" what the birds doing...

    • @FalconryTold
      @FalconryTold  Před 8 lety

      +Zig Zag I have a loose knowledge of UK falconry, largely garnered from various books and a plethora of internet videos. I've never spent time in the UK, though I'd love too eventually.

    This GPS system may be extremely useful for hacking eyass if it was fully weatherproof and had a long battery life. Of course you would still have to worry about predators, but at least you'd know where your hawk was. Perhaps, with some improvements, it could be used for migratory animals, and picked up by other scientists whenever it fell out. Either way, this is amazing technology!

    No bells? I understand the purpose of the GPS, but shouldn't bells be put on anyway?

    • @FalconryTold
      @FalconryTold  Před 5 lety +1

      Most flying long wings have moved away from bells, they are cumbersome for a fast high flying falcon needing agile use of its feet, as well as giving an unnecessary advantage to their prey by giving away their presence, telemetry & GPS has rendered them nearly obsolete though they still have their uses and are used by some Falconers.

      @@FalconryTold ...Makes sense. About how much for that Telemetry setup?

    • @FalconryTold
      @FalconryTold  Před 5 lety +1

      Dakota u depends if you’re getting a new or used unit, you’ll need of course the three primary components, the pocketlink, receiver, and transmitter, then decide how you’ll mount it, backpack vs bewit, etc. You can find pricing over at Marshall Radio Telemetry’s website.
