Every time I'm sad that I'm single, I come to Dr. Grande's channel to reassure myself that it's better to be alive. Thank you, Dr. Grande.

I grew up in the same town as Jackie. I never got to know her super well but we shared some classes, had a couple play dates and she attended one of my birthday parties. She was kind, composed and keenly intelligent for our age. I never witnessed her exhibit any abnormal behavior - certainly nothing resembling what we see here.
This case was so saddening to hear as it’s clear she didn’t receive or keep up with adequate treatment. Another reason mental health awareness is so vitally important.
Hoping Jackie gets the help she needs and that as intense as her case is, that the discussion surrounding it creates further space for mindful and meaningful mental health discourse.
Nicely put
Very often schizophrenia doesn't manifest until someone is in their late teens or early twenties. My friend Jennifer was a typical teenager. Then around age twenty she started displaying very erratic behavior. One time disappearing for almost a week before being discovered half naked and close to death in the mountains. Luckily she came from a loving home and her parents got her the help she needed. Medication allows her to have a somewhat normal life. Let's just hope Jackie gets the same sort of help.
Apparently her friend came out with a CZcams audio stating this man was known to the family and had been grooming and engaging with Jacqueline since she was 16.
@@minacerra oh goodness... Do you happen to have a link to that being addressed? Jackie moved away before we turned 16 so I never knew about any of that. So sad if that’s true.

Reminds me of the movie "He Loves Me He Loves Me Not" (2002) where the first half of the movie is from the perspective of a woman madly in love. The second half of the movie retells the entire story from his perspective, and he doesn't even know she exists. They had briefly met, and she'd become increasingly insane with the delusion that they were a couple, stalking and threatening him.
This film you mention sounds great! I will watch it, thanks for the info! 😀

That’s like every relationship almost.
Not totally relevant, but it’s kind of impressive how drastically she can alter her look. I swear some of those photos aren’t of the same person.
Yeah, lots of drastically different looks. Even expressions, smiles,, poses drastically different.
An Asian, Hispanic, Pacific Islander or white woman of varying weight and hair. A chameleon.
It almost makes me suspect DID. Some multiples are wildly different to the core personality
I have noticed many women like that, especially makeup / no makeup. Not bizarre at all.

This woman isn’t well. She shouldn’t have been allowed to sit that media interview.

If she's awake 16 hours a day that's 32 messages every hour... Or one every two minutes.
Bonkers.
I don't see how you could do that without some serious OCD...
Thank you for the breakdown!
That's impossible, the 151,000 texts has to be an overstatement

@designerwaterbottle I work with individuals that have cognitive disabilities, some of them experience psychosis, mania, and depression. In some cases they do stop grooming, changing clothes, and showering altogether.
When I saw her interview, I felt extremely sad for her. I have been stalked before and understand how terrifying it can be, so I feel bad for the guy. But she is clearly ill, and the press exploited her terribly. I hope that she gets the care she needs and that the victim is able to reclaim his life.

The brain is a complicated thing, especially when it gets sick. That interview outraged me - it was like the media was capitalizing off a human being who was clearly having a crisis and a break with reality.

I have the opposite problem only because I am a woman of many words. People including all of my family members often have to remind me to limit my words in text messages and my number of written communications done without using that automatic voice to text app on my computer because at least when only writing I will not go on and on as much. She did tell some interesting stories though. It is shocking and heartbreaking that this is what happened. I sincerely hope she has gotten the medical care she needed afterward.
So a CEO millionaire doesn't know how to block a number on his phone?!
I am sure after she entered his house unannounced he was advised by his legal counsel to keep the conversation somewhat going also at the beginning I am sure he tried to reason with her and I can imagine they still had a casual thing going..
I think he probably got another phone and kept that one for evidence.
Why wouldn't he have a burner phone for such encounters and why would he ever let her (or anyone like her) know where he lives after a single date?
I once worked for a millionaire in commercial real estate, who needed me to open his emails every morning and constant hand holding with all tech.

Psychiatrist here - longtime admirer of both your analyses and dry wit Dr Grande ;). While it is not good practice to diagnose people we have not interviewed, this does seem like a textbook case of Erotomania - a specific type of delusional disorder. People believe the individual is in love with them but for some reason will not admit to it publicly. They misinterpret innocuous events as "evidence" that the love object sending them covert signals of their love. (Cf the excellent novel by Ian McEwan - "Enduring Love"). This also explains why she thought the jury would likely tell the man to "stop playing games" and marry her.

How can you conclude that too from a distance? Do you have some sort of 'super duper hero powers like 'the Lizard people' [I'm being facetious here] or what?
It’s actually not outside the realm of possibility if you do the math: This is a bit more than one text per minute for eight hours every day. If you type a lot on your computer, I think you could be on the same order of magnitude when counting characters.

If someone sent me an unbelievably inordinate number of texts, some of which were threatening, I would not block them either. First, they are evidence of criminal behavior and can be used for a conviction, and secondly, it would be wise to let the perpetrator forewarn you about future possible criminal acts since the person appears to do this compulsively and cannot control themselves. 🍀 I so enjoy your video sessions & always feel I come away feeling real objective. Thanks for your both-sided analysis. Also, You have a great way with your humor.
Doc, that subtle photo change from filtered shot to real shot while stating 'he no longer was interested in her...' or something similar was real art. 😉
Time stamp?

@@mirzaghalib8659 sure did! He is very clever!
OMG! Dr. Grande...for a cold cloudy day online with virtual schooling (🙁) your video made me LAUGH SO HARD! Thank you. I really needed this! 😘
Yes something occured in her life that started this spiral downward and the relationship she had with this guy pushed her over. And she left reality behind.
I would love to hear your in depth view on Dr Drew Pinsky.
I can’t help remembering the movie “Fatal Attraction” and the infamous “bunny boiler.”
Even though there was no bunny in this case, both situations had cooking components in it...😰😬
Really fascinating. This video brings up interesting concepts on love/obsession/revenge/crime. Well done Dr. Grande! ❤️
Lol! Your sarcasm is pure gold. 💎✨
Thank you for your sharp mind always making me smile Dr Grande. You’re delightful. ☺️❤️
Dr Grande, excellent and entertaining analysis. One thing unmentioned was her heavy breathing. She was almost breathless the entire interview. What are your professional thoughts on that? It was distressing to watch...
It’s almost like robbing a big screen tv and telling the store clerk, I’m not bring this back...
I fell out of my chair 🪑
makeup is a hell of a drug
I hate how much this made me laugh.
Hey, my standards are low enough to not care
She was a makeup artist, and apparently, she was very good at it.
@@JanetEsq I'll say. She seems totally absorbed with herself. Why would she need or have room for another person in her life?
Dr. Grande thank you again for adding photos to your videos! It's really great and helps illuminate the story and people involved! Makes your videos extra interesting imo🙂
