  • In this video I show you how to remove a fence post in concrete, in under 5 minutes !
    I have removed alot of fence posts being a fencing contractor and If you absolutely need to, this is the easiest way to remove a fence post, in concrete.
    With a few simple tools you can pull fence posts out of the ground in minutes, instead of hours of back breaking digging.
    You just need a jack and even a car jack will do.
    I hope that this video helped you in some way, and if it did, please leave a comment for me in the comments section. I love to hear from people who gained value from any of my videos. I always respond to comments, so would be great to hear from you guys !

    Last time I had to take concrete posts out, I used the water method.... Dig a small ditch around the top of the concrete ball, fill with water and let it soak down. Water in a few times, then I was able to rock the post slightly, the wet mud is pushed up from the rocking movement. After a few minutes of rocking the post and concrete ball will be free. You've just to then lift it out 💪

      @suemorris3931 Před 2 lety +1

      How "small" is the ditch (i.e., how deep and wide)....4 inches deep? a foot deep? 3 inches wide? or more?

    • @e30mark
      @e30mark Před 2 lety +3

      @@suemorris3931 about 2" wide x 2" deep, its just to stop the initial water from running away. Once the water has started to soak down, the bigger the ditch you dig the quicker it is for the water to soak in.

    Nice vid, I'm no fencer but I had these 2 rusted metal posts sticking out the ground and I avoided pulling them out for years, until I had a child and realised the posts would be hazardous. So long story short on a realy dry day I used a club hammer around the base of the post striking the post really hard around the base essentially using vibration to loosen the soil around the post anyways got it out in 2-3 minutes,it was spiked 2ft into the ground.

    Many post don't have such regular small holes. The last 7" x 7" that I took out went down 24" and there was no option but to use a breaker on it. You need a breaker to chip the plug off to reuse the concrete post. A two side hole works - you can auger it out unless you have to go through tree roots when you have to resort to an axe and 3" x 6' steel chisel bar.

    Nice if you have a full length post to remove. Usually the reason for removing a post is because its damaged or broken and there's nothing to fix to. I have screwed an old strap into what's left of an old wooden post at ground level and used a piece of 4x2 and a brick or block as a pivot and then slowly stand on the 4x2 to lift the old post.
