I was 14 when i started listening to em and saw them in '89 for the Girls Girls Girls tour. Man it was awesome. I'm so glad i was lucky enough to be able to experience that when i was young. Man the fucking electricity in the air and the crowds and the pits, it's so exciting for a kid, being that was only my 2nd concert. That is something everyone should experience.

The song isn't about a literal merry-go-round. According to Vince it's about addiction: out partying all night while his woman waits at home. He stumbles into bed, the room spinning before his eyes. I've been a Crue fan since I was a teen in the 80's.

That's an excellent analogy. Motley Crue will never be my favorite band but there may never be another band that made me feel like I grew up and grew old with them more than Motley Crue. I will be 54 soon. I was in high school when this came out. I was in college when Vince drive drunk and killed Razzle Dingley. I had just graduated when they were on top of the world with Dr. Feelgood. I was a coming of age adult, dealing with post adolescent stress, when Vince lost his daughter. I was comfortably into middle age, with a wife and three teenage kids, when they played their farewell concert in 2015. I have grown up this band and they have grown up with me!🙂

I liked this song because it has that sound that fits when you are a runaway on your own,. all you got is you. You are young and every thing is against you , all you got is you to make things happen... Its always been a great song to me and I started listening to Motley Crue in 1989, the song is timeless.As is their story, Netflix did not do them justice. None the less their music tells the real story.. The dirt should have started after Nikki Sixx left his mother during some dramatic incident , Nikki Sixx is a hustler, he had to hustle to survive, which is why he is such a good business man, that should have been emphasized and Sixx is street.. Street smarts are one hell of an asset.. No one has street smarts anymore, His business genius should have been emphasized, In the 80s a lot of groups traveled to the Sunset strip with dreams that never took flight, a lot of groups wanted to make it but they could not because they did not have talent and business minds , but Motely Crue made it because Sixx was hungrier and smarter than the others, What they achieved was not as easy as the movie made it look, anyway love this song.
On google it says that this song is about someone with a mental illness getting dragged off a merry go round by police. Nikki saw it in Seattle.
@@danielkazic6043 Brother, When it comes to metal people, one thing I've learned in actually being in a death metal band and in a grunge metal band is that the person who writes the lyrics is usually somewhat of an abstract who sees things that other people do not and will never see.
The leaders would write the lyrics and ask me to sing them.The way I would deliver the lyrics were from my perception so the song wold be defined by my image and perception, whatever thought the guy who wrote the lyrics initially had usually gets lost with the singers image and portrayal.
Nikki could have very well had been high and saw a mentally impaired individual getting abused on a merry go round , but Nikkki was also a runaway , runaways were affluent on the sunset strip or in California in general, so as a runaway his sound was influenced by those conditions that all runaways experience.
Did you know that Nikki Sixx started a foundation for Runaway kids ? I did not know, I just guessed he did because I have been where he has been psychology , I can decrypt dark music, I know how it's created or inspired, there is a genetic code to us, we may be different but all come from the same.
