I guess Suzuki just conveniently left out of the installation guide the part about switching plugs at the ECM. I was scratching my head trying to figure out why the unit wouldn’t power up. If it weren’t for this video, I’d be trying to return a defective unit. Kind of a key bit of info. Thanks Precision Marine for the video and great prices/customer service.
Does you manual trim on your shifter and motor still work ? Will my fish finder gauge still work? What does the 2000 end up doing when you plug it into the smg4 to the existing data readings ?
Does anyone know of instructions for setting the initial settings on the SMG4? My LCD died and I need to swap in a new unit. The owners manual only says those settings are for your dealer. 🤔
Check Gauge C will occur when not set up and programmed properly. Please review your Owner's manual and review This system activates when there is a communication error with the gauge. Adopt the appropriate measures according to the Owner’s Manual and it should remove this issue.

Not on rigging or accessories. I checked with my authorized dealer, 12 months. Luckily I found a replacement on eBay for a discount. 😕

I have a Raymarine axiom 9 and SMG4. If I use the Suzuki interface cable with the SMG4 and my axiom, will the SMG4 still operate?

Will my 2012 harness have the correct plugs? The motor is a 2023 and they just plugged it into the old harness. Trying to switch from analog gauges.
I did the install like show but my gauge reads (check gauge c) and I see no data on my smg4.
You ever figure it out? Mine says same thing and won’t power off when using the grey port. 2023 DF250SS

New boat came with this. But it reads check gauge c and if plugged into grey port stays on and won’t shut off.
Did you get a fix ?
@@alasdairmacfadyen1532 yeah but it was a pain. I posted that over a year ago. Gauge was determined to be bad along with improper wiring.
