I am the owner of this Trans Am. I wanted to write and thank everyone for the kind words about the car. We finished the build in 2018 in time to show at SEMA. I then used the car as a Pace Car in the SCCA and local car shows. Whoever buys it will have a real icon of badass.

I had an 80 trans am made by Pontiac, these new trans ams are nothing more than a camaro with a face-lift. I wouldn't spend $1 on one, but an original trans am I would definitely buy

THIS is awesome!! So, I get that the Pontiac division in GM no longer exists and they DID bring back the Camaro. How about putting a few of THESE in some dealerships....ya know, just to see how many "bites" they get. It wouldn't be these versions of course, but give it a peppy engine nonetheless. Guys like me that grew up watching "Smoky and the Bandit" didn't have the money as a kid to buy one of these, but now.........

Closest thing to a traditional Trans Am I've seen. Only thing left, just like they used to be is the basic body structure. Just about everything Camaro has been replaced with Trans Am styling, except for the Chevy (GM) engine. Damn good job on it.

May be nice to look at but once you get past a certain power level you can't put the power down to the ground. The 1200 HP is just for bragging rights; you can't use the power in normal driving. A new 650 HP Camaro ZL1 is already crazy fast, has a full factory warranty at any Chevrolet dealer, and is a much smarter purchase.
You donât buy muscle cars for a smart purchase and to save on gas mileage. You buy them for the experience and sound this entire car is a experience you wonât get from a ZL1 because no car manufacturers are making muscle car designs like this anymore except Dodgeâs challenger itâs the only true muscle car left
You slap some Mickey Thompson on the back you can put the power down fine plus itâs even lighter than a Camaro ZL1 it uses aluminum as the frame and carbon fiber on the body panels
There's a lot of muscle cars out there that I like but nothing is like the super duty trans am outlaw or this one I think if I bought one it would be the blue outlaw edition thousand horsepower but 1200 horsepower is even better there's only one other car I really like to have the size that in American muscle and that would be the Shelby super Snake they're my two favorite American muscle cars

It would be really awesome if GM would actually intro a "Camaro T/A appearance pkg" maybe as a T/A 50th anniversary or something. Best of both worlds??
I think about the only thing I could squeeze in my budget would be a V6 convertible Camaro daily driver.
Then I'd love to do the front/rear clip and hood conversion to make it look like a TransAm just as a tribute to the good ol days.
I just want the "look" of that badass front end and spoiler.
If I was doing this, the key would be to get something into the price range of Joe Average. THAT'S what would get me excited. When people can see these in their town or in their neighborhood, that's REAL.
What's sad is, this is just a CZcams video from a celebrity car builder, something most of us will NEVER even see. They could HAVE essentially fabricated the whole thing in CGI and it would be the same experience for 99% of the youtube viewers.
You'll never see these $100k+ retros on the STREET, they're hidden away in Jay Lenos garage. So there's really not much point except to gen up the excitement for a car we'll never be able to own.
It IS nice what they do with the custom graphics and stitching and 1000HP, and I admire their dedication to the idea, but I don't need any of those extras.
Get a new styled camaro and the front and back clip of the TA, convert to electric motor and it will scream past this 1200 hp.
