- Grant Mahoney and Jeff Woody welcome on former Cyclone and All-American David Montgomery to talk about the foundation he laid at Iowa State, compare the Campbells, and how he has embraced the fans of Detroit. The relationships he's built, reflecting on his NFL career thus far, and more. Presented by Kelderman Manufacturing.
This is really excellent stuff, guys, thank you for having D-Mo on your show! Lions fan since the 1980s, and at no point in time, no year did we ever field a team like this that is already awesome and getting better. But what really makes it truly special, so that random people come up to you and thank you and start crying? Dudes like D-Mo are what this team is made of. Genuine, good, hard-working grown-ass men who have gotten over themselves and go to work every day happy to work with the people next to them. I'd root for any winner, but I'm straight up goddamn proud to root for David and the Lions.
Thanks for the interview, David is a gem. Very articulate with high IQ. Thank you for being a cyclone....
We love this guy in Detroit! I was SO glad we took him off Chicago's hands. Watching him run all over the Lions twice a year was rough.
respect to Iowa State..
#DetroitvsEverybody #grit
David is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ culture personified.
David is an all time Iowa State player and all time good person. So lucky to have a person like him with ISU
As a lifelong Lions fan who has had the nickname D-Mo since I was a kid (my first name is Dan & my last name starts with Mo), I was so jacked when he signed with us. When he was with the Bears, despite their being one of our biggest rivals, I would always preach to anybody that would listen that he was a beast & the most underappreciated RB in the league. I'm so happy that he is finally getting the recognition he deserves & hopefully this season he is going to get that ring with the boys. I can only imagine how hype the city will be, bc the playoffs last season were crazy but when we win the SB, it's going to be on another level. D-Mo.....we genuinely appreciate you in Detroit.
This was great getting to know David and seeing his casual side. Even more of a Montgomery fan. Thanks for this summer series.
If you haven't seen his appearance on The St. Brown Brothers Podcast with 33rd Team check it out. Good stuff!
Just wanted to say that guy crying in the stands, his dad was a steelworker that built Ford Field as well and was buried in his Lions jacket. So it really meant a lot.... to all of us tbh
Living in Michigan I have to share this with all my Lions fan friends.
Monty is funny af low key 😂 love that dude ✊🏽
Campbell's done a great job of finding talented high-character players
👍🏻🦁
What fantastic human being. Could we convince him to be governor of Iowa as a side gig to his NFL job?
Try and get kene on? Got quite a few of his cards banking of the new kickoff rules really benefitting him
What’s the watch that woody is wearing?
Go Lions...but Skyline chili is disgusting...it's main flavor is cinnamon. If you're into that kind of thing.. It's not even real chili.
If you had cinnamon flavored lasagna...would you call it lasagna?
Having never seen these goombas talk, it is quite clear why there are only a few subscribers. Yikes.
...LOL!
...Mahoney is kinda quirky...but is funny & does a good job...Wood can't go an episode w/o interjecting himself into the convo or interupting the guest...& I think his real calling is being an auctioneer...Jesus...WAY to much coffee consumed by the guy...
...that said, they do a great job of getting good ISU football guests on the show & have kinda cornered that niche...wish they could get other past ISU athletes on from other sports...or older FB alums from the 70's & 80's...
...they're way better then Williams who tries to work All-Star Hillbilly fake-ass wresting & racing into every show...really annoying...I just turn 'em off now...haven't really watched him for over a month...
If you don't like them you don't have to listen. Cyclone Nation loves these guys and I look forward to their talks every time
They're former Cyclone football players, they're pretty raw in terms of experience, but us Cyclone homers don't care.
