How come the two NORTH divisions get the old CENTRAL division stats but the AFC/NFC south doesn’t Edit: Ok well the I messed up I forgot only the Bucs was in the NFC central division and the other 3 south teams were in the NFC west but in terms of the AFC south half of the division is from the AFC central division. Don’t they deserve the right to the central division stats too?
There was a strike in the middle of the season, causing only 9 games to be played. Since the teams didn't finish out their schedule, the NFL decided to just ditch the divisions for that one season, because you had teams in the same division that never played each other at all that season.
