Nice install! Thanks for sharing!
Awesome job! This model 3 looks amazing
CZcams led me to your video, you now have a new subscriber, good job with the install!
Great video btw. Appreciate the content and love the look
looks amazing
Thank you @Rithea Metta much appreciated 🙏
Thanks for showing max ride height, that was helpful.
That looks Dope👍😎
You should get the vibration dampening grommets to place under the compressors.
@Quincy Alexander I did install the isolators for the compressors recently. Much better on the sound.
Nice install! Question, how did you get normal jackstands under the car? I had to Jerry rig a floorjack with jackstands holding the jack up.
Noce Beetle outside 👍🏼
Do this mod will it void any warranty on the car
Is there a reason why you chose air demand over other air suspension manufacturers like universal air or airtekk?
@john Huynh I chose airdemand because I knew a few guys who had them and the price point and quality was what I was looking for. Universal Air was definitely my next choice but a bit more expensive but I also have heard nothing but good things about them.
hey, do you need the solid state relay to wire the pink wire or will it work the same without that relay? im installing mine this week thanks
@Irvine Transport everything I have heard is to use a solid state relay just because of the way the Tesla power is setup. That is why I decided to use that I have not tried a standard relay, everything I was reading at the time was saying they were having problems with standard relays. But that was for other types of installs not air suspension. So I just went the safe route.
How did you setup the frunk wood piece? I cut out a wood piece but it keeps rocking back and forth because the frunk tub is not even. I also have to add some legs to the wood piece since my tank is too long
@Jose Torres I used the Styrofoam from the air tank box to put under the wood at the corners that were low. It fit perfectly lol
@@stvpket awesome I was thinking of that but wasn’t sure if that was good to do LOL , I will do the same.
Nice, man! Looks good! Where did you get that angle connector for the compressor? Thanks!
@Jeff Keo thank you, are you asking about the 90 fitting that goes into the tank from the compressor? I got that at the local parts store Princess auto.
@@stvpket thank you!
Very nice. Any trimming required?
@Robert no trimming required at all.
what wheels are you rocking? these are by far the best I've seen on a tesla 😍
@Ocean Ellis, Thanks! these rims in the video are MSR 087 series 20" I now have 19" Leon Hardiritt Ordens. But still switch to the MSRs now and again
@@stvpketu have any videos with the 19s
If I wire the 12v ign like you did do I have to keep the center console open bc the once its closed the light goes off?
@J Bennett no on my car the power only turns off if nobody is sitting in the car and the doors are closed. It's basically powered the same as the screen.
@Stephen Puckett ok I'm about to install my kit. Ground got it, pink wire got it, the other 2 you ran to a blue wire and then a brown right? Heard someone saying they have to ride with the center console open bc they ran it to the led light and when it's closed it cuts power
Hey, what wire gauges did you tap with the blue 12v, brown switch wire, and ignition? Thank you
@Tommy Bui I used 16g wire I had laying around there is no current flowing through those wires so 18g would be fine as well. It's just signal.
@@stvpket Understood! And did you run a ground wire to the center console bolts?
@@Tommy_booi yes I just wired ground to the center console mounting bolt.
What size bit did you use for the height sensors?
@Jose Torres I do not remember you will also have to tap the hole for the screw once you are done. I don't remember the size so you will have to figure that out, sorry.
Do you have to remove the struts and or shocks to make them longer or shorter??
@matulalicious2427 no you don't have to remove them. You can adjust them while still on the car. Just jack the car up to get the load off the shocks/struts
Does is it have any electrical issues and all doors and mirrors are close right ? No battery drainage right ?
No electrical issues at all. No drainage issues as the system shuts down as soon as the doors are closed and your not in the car.
hey man thanks for dropping some knowledge on air suspension brotha. quick question are you still running spacers on your car?
@larry hernandez no problem bro thanks for checking the video out. Yes I still am running spacers I now have 19x9.5 and 19x10.5 Ordens on the car but still running spacers to get the perfect fitment
thank you brotha. i’ll send pics of the setup when i’m done
@larry hernandez nice man will love to see it.
Did you have to cut the rear height sensor rod? Also, did you have to cut the rear bag bolt?
@Jose Torres yes you have to cut the ride height sensor rods to the needed length for where you installed the sensor. Just a helpful tip also make sure the rod attaches to the middle hole on the sensor as this gives you the most adjustability.
As for the rear bag bolt. I went and got a shorter bolt from the hardware store so I didn't have to cut anything.
@@stvpket ok cool what size was the bolt?
@@jt_mStesla honestly I do not remember it was not long at all. Maybe 1"
I do not remember hearing such a big noise when a Model X raised or lowered in videos.
Looks sick bro...did you buy the kit local or from the US?
@Amen Panesar thanks! I got the kit from the states but there is a few places in Canada for the kit as well.
@@stvpket Thx man how well did the car run with our winter this year up here in the Okanagan?
@@amendippanesar the car did good its just the sr+ so rear wheel drive but I have studded tires so no problem it did well. As for the air suspension I made sure to put a small amount of air brake antifreeze in the tank to keep things from freezing. Never froze even in -20
Do you do local installs?
Also curious air ride can be setup with wheel gap aired out. As I want minimal gap still existence and able to air up for speed bumps and drive ways.
That my main use with air ride.
But hearing that drilling holes was the hardest part doesn't sound bad for the physical install!
@TrueDreams2 I unfortunately do not I am actually moving out of BC soon otherwise I would help do an install sorry. I can help where needed with questions though.
@@stvpket damn moving. Anyhow I updated my question.
And do you have a space to drain condensation out for winter etc?
I was tempted on coils and air cups. But some guys are Running into binding issues with that setup and it cost more than full air if I went front rear air cups
@TrueDreams Yes you can set the strut adjustment locking rings so you can raise the car a lot higher when aired up. You can have the air out setting set to stock height if you wanted it is totally up to how you want it to adjust.
Yes drilling holes was for sure the most pain staking part. But that is only if you get the height sensors if you dont get that upgrade then install is a breeze. In my opinion you do not need to spend the extra money on sensors. They are nice but definitely not needed.
@@TrueDreams I have my tank mounted the way it should be with the drain port at the bottom, I use the pressure relief valve to drain the tank once a month in the winter. I also add a bit of air brake antifreeze to the tank after draining as well to make sure nothing freezes about 10ml. I just use a syringe and put it directly into the air line coming off the tank drain.
@@stvpket thanks for the replies this makes me want to air for sure.
I have a few more question.
Is it's floatier than stock or along the lines of Coilovers? Or a coilover on full soft.
And say a bag blows out. Will it just not be able to rais eor does the locked setti g for minimal height is where a popped bag car would sit? So you know how long these bags are rated to last for before the bags go bad or needs a replacement?
Did you eventually upgrade rear arms etc to do camber and toe setting or it was not needed since your normal ride height is near stock? You could get it aligned properly for the drive height?
Would it be possible to undermount the setup in the frunk to retain the frunk in a rwd?
how's the ride comfort man?
@shahrouzkhan200 the ride is much better than stock. You can adjust the dampening to set it softer or more stiff to how you like the ride quality. No bounce or any floating in the suspension like the old kits used to suffer from.
well thx YT for the recommend now I'm trying to think of a creative way to do this without my bf realizing what I am doing lol hmmm
Damn.
I just put some wheels on my model 3 but my back wheels poke out 1 inch do you think it will still tuck or even work when I put my air suspension
@L3gend2You what is the offset of the rims? I currently have 19x10.5 with +12 offset with 245/35r19 tires and the tires just tuck but the rim lip is flush with the fender.
@@stvpket my fronts are 19x9.5 +22 offset, tires are 235/40. Rear are 19x10.5 +22 offset, tires are 255/45
@@l3gend2you5 yes they should tuck in just fine. Easiest way to check is to just disconnect your rear shock and then put a jack under the wheel and jack it up and see if it tucks inside the wheel well this will be your safest check but I believe +22 offset will tuck fine.
@@stvpket you are the man thanks for replying so fast and love the ride
@@l3gend2you5 your welcome and thanks! I'm currently rebuilding my Leon Hardiritt Ordens now so be on the lookout for a new video once I get all the parts in.
Do you have a separate battery for it?
@Berelex no just using the stock 12v battery. I have it set up to only turn on once the door is open and you are in the car that way the pumps don't run when you don't need them to. This save the battery.
@@stvpket Ah okay, thank you!
Where in BC are you?
@Adam Gerges I am in the Okanagan
@@stvpket Same man I got a model Y I'm going to bag
@@amendippanesar that's going to look sick! Let me know if you have any questions.
You saying your system shuts on/off with the doors, but if you’re actively driving it does it stay on? I think I’m overthinking this lol
@TrickieD808 yes it powers off if you are out of the car and doors are closed. But will always stay powered on if you are in the seat or doors are open, you have camp or dog mode on. It will only power of once the car goes to sleep when you are sitting inside the car. Otherwise it will not power off if you are in the car driving or not.
@@stvpket thank you 🤙🏽
@@TrickieD808 anytime let me know if you have any other questions.
Why?
@scott shanahan The ride quality and handling is greatly increased and I can change the ride clearance height at a moments notice. So if I see something in the road or going over speed bumps or in my case getting out of my driveway without scraping the bottom of the car like I was at the stock factory ride height. It is a much improved modification.
Cool
I got a new s coming, can’t wait for the air ride.
This is so embarrassing. Do you not realise people laugh at these ridiculous mods?
They dont look cool, they look ridiculous.
@S Anderson people are entitled to their opinions and that's OK, I laugh at what people think as well so until you start paying for the things I do I really don't care what people have to say.
@@stvpket Thats fine mate. But if you post a video with enabled comments then you have to expect a few comments about your car that you might not like or agree with .
What I would check is though is if your insurance company deems your chavvy "modifications " are in contravention of your policy which may invalidate it.
@@sandersson2813 yes all comments are welcome positive or negative I don't mind either way. As for air suspension, have you seen the model S? It has air suspension for factory. So no worries at all with insurance.
@@stvpket Well that depends, your car isnt a Model S, so your car insurance company could very well argue your car wasnt designed to use it, hence it hasnt been tested to be legally capable of using it, now im sure on a technical basis it most likely is, but an insurance company will use any means to absolve itself of financial liability, and non approved parts is an easy win for them, especially when it is something which can affect handling.
Just a thought, especially as its more than just a cosmetic upgrade which would be more difficult for them to argue against, otjer than the cost of replacing cosmetic upgrades you didnt divulge.
@@stvpket Exactly...not like you built the car for haters and their approvals lol
