I have a tremendous amount of respect for Zangief players. I'm a fireball guy, anyone that can play grapplers are the true SF elites...
I tend to agree. Grappler mains are people who have my eternal respect, because the shit breaks my brain. Charge characters are up there as well, but just under grapplers.
As a charged characters user, i agree with both of you. I always enjoy fighting against grapplers, even if i lose. My respect for them!.

Zangief's suplex actually shut down the raging demon?
I feel like since he's a grappler his grabs would have a higher priority naturally, but also if he activates his super just afterwards he would have a higher priority simply due to the timing of the super move's execution (using it as a counter by activating it within range of an attacking enemy etc.). Plus Akuma's Raging Demon has to effectively make full body contact to work, Zangief has a small range increase (as he reaches out with his arms to grab Akuma).
I could be wrong, just my gaming theory on it!
[DVS] Python That's actually all about hit and hurtboxes ranges and if the oponnent is throwable or not at the moment the grab connect. Also Super in almost every SF game give you some invincible frames. The rest is just the player timing it right for the movie.
if you're talking about 5:36, Akuma hit Zangief while inputting the raging demon, which is very punishable since hit-stun renders unthrowable, giving 'Gief all the time he wants to input something that beats it (in this case Ultimate Atomic Buster has a lot more range than the Raging Demon, and is invincible at the moment they connect)

first do half motion and then when you press forward keyboard press jump button
before zangief jump quickly press attack button
or in other and you maybe not like it
in game setting remapping the keyboard like this
jump back down forward
use that in other keyboard button
that make pile driver and other possible but make game bit hard

SFV had all of this to work with and instead, gave Zangief a German Suplex for his super.
I agree! Couldn’t have they made the German Suplex a special move. Maybe when he does the Running Grab point blank he could do the German Suplex like the old games. And made his ultimate like Ultimate Atomic Buster. Also, I hate Horosho Chokeslam (Which is not even a chokeslam). It just doesn’t fit Zangief’s personality too well, looks too cruel.
Too bad that some throws of SFII era are missing in latest iterations.

so Zangief can suplex robots, and even dinasaurs.

Hey Maj, I love this vid, but it's hard to watch with that weird blurring effect on it, it strains my eyes. I usually get this effect in Premiere if I leave "frame blend" turned on. Might that be the case here?

more advanced methods involve performing an attack like banishing fist, then inputing the 720 while the animation plays out. like was done in some parts of the video. don't know if that's what you mean
+KidArez It took me playin on stick for a while to be able to standing 360s.and now i can do em on pads just as easy. in some games its simplified too.
go into training and want you to try doing Half Circle back and from the back input go straight to that UP input while almost instantly pressing punch.
now 720s are different story. the best things with those is to buffer it with other things. like normals, specials (like green hand) but the best is probably to dash which requires you to be fairly fast but no the inhuman level of standing 720s.
+TVindustries5000 also im not sure if you know this but i didnt know for the longest, but it doesnt matter which way you do the 360, it can be done with the same motion from 1P or 2P side.
