That´s not a typical Band-Maid song and that´s on purpose... It´s an love letter to their fans. SAIKI (main vocals) held an very emotional speech right before this song. And what was also really unusual she was alone on stage without the other maids and talking directly to the "audience", normally she is the one who keeps distance. She spoke about how COVID is helding everything down, because on the 11th february they were supposed to do an concert in the Budokan Hall in Tokyo which was a dream of them and it shuttered, but she also said that this was never the end, to be in the Budokan Hall was just the next step and we all suffer from this pandemic. They miss their fans and to perform for their masterrs and princesses and can´t wait to be back on stage with us. So this song is about us, about Band-Maid and their fans. You can also turn on the subtitles to know what they are singing about... It´s not my jam, to be honest, but i know the meaning behind it and it reaches my heart and feelings and that´s what counts! Greetings from Germany

Even though Band-Maid churns out mostly hard/heavy rock tunes, they can make powerful melodic ballads such as this. This was specially created and "Maid" for their fans. Btw, the new songs you still need to react to besides "Warning!" is "Manners" and "After life". Of course you can always go look at their older ones and there's plenty to choose from. Perhaps dedicating a specific day for Band-Maid reactions? The Maidiacs will love you even more if you do 😁

Here we have a sample template for how to convey feelings and emotions in a beautiful and credible way.
This song is meant as a thank you and appreciation for us fans, while we are the ones who have to thank them. I can't help but love these ladies. :)
Thank you for another Band-Maid video and the support it brings to them.

This song has great lyrics by Miku Kobato. Their message to fans who can't meet because of COVIT-19.
    Let's build a future
    In this emerald world.
It’s alright! See, we are all here.
    No one is alone.
    Fly more...
I did. Good old days, Ooh...
    ‘Thank you’
    From now and tomorrow.

"About Us", in the vein of other great mid-tempo Band-Maid songs like Daydreaming, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, Wonderland, Awkward, Start Over, Mirage and Smile, is an amazing song and personal message to their fans - a direction I'm glad to see them add to their journey toward world domination. And we get to hear MISA play the vibe she so enjoys. Stretch Band-Maid... Stretch with all your might. We're behind you 100! Their new DVD/BD/CD of this incredible concert has been ordered! Thanks, Sassy & Hank, for bringing "About Us" to your viewers!

Now, if you turn on your CC, there are Eng. sub's and listen again. It's a song about you, me, them, everyone. It's selfless, Po! Misa (bass) stated early on that her bass needed some bottom end, so she began playing a 5 string, G&L to begin with, and now the Black Cloud. She also stated that Kanami (Lead guitar, primary composer) would demo record the initial basslines, send it to Misa, then she would modify it. So, you got a lead guitarist laying down the initial basslines, Po! I'm surprised that Misa hadn't gotten a 6 string bass, like Boh. BTW, did you hear Kanami shredding the whole time in clear tones throughout this track, Po!

    From another reaction video ......
This is from online concert Feb. 11, 2021. The song is a love letter from the band that they wrote to their fans. Just before singing the song Saiki talked about the struggles of the band over the past year. Here is the English translation of what she said. It gives more meaning to the song and how they felt. Saiki: We were supposed to meet you today. For the first time in a year, we thought we could meet you all, those of you who could come to see us, but we can’t meet you in the end. I’m sorry. Even though it’s not my fault. We have been having days of turmoil for about a year. In the beginning, we were very surprised because we hadn’t experienced it before, and we had no experience of not being able to meet others in person. We were sad, but we found we shouldn’t be sad in this situation. When I saw you masters and princesses on social media, you were more depressed than us, and we thought that’s terrible. We Band-Maid have been thinking about how to cheer up all of you in the last one year. We truly wanted to meet you at Nippon Budokan, but it’s impossible because of COVID, so let’s wait for the day when we can meet. And in the last one year… or in the COVID pandemic, we have become more eager to cheer you up, and we Band-Maid realized again it’s important to give our songs to you. That’s why we wrote this song for Budokan. We made the album also in the pandemic, so it might have a little similar feel, but this song is planned for Nippon Budokan, and we really want to give it to you masters and princesses now. Budokan is not our goal but just a stepping stone. We will perform at bigger venues, and we promise we will bring you there and give you even better songs, so let’s keep it up a little more. This is our present for you masters and princesses. Please listen to it.

About Us is a lovely song with so beautiful vocals from Miku and Saiki. The layered Miku vocal makes such an impact as only she can. Misa bass is creative as ever all over the mid to highs.
Be surprised that The Maids are not young young. Saiki just turned 27. Miku and Kanami are 28,Misa is 29 and Akane is 30. This song is not on their latest release Unseen World. Warning is the opposite of this and the opening track to the new album.
