I put my heart and soul into these moments of peace. Even though I don’t have a circle of others who share this desire for meditation, I know I need it after 3 Iraq tours in 5 years. From 2004 to 2009 there were so many moments of triumph and despair. There were so many times I asked God to help me find peace when this is all over. I believe God helped me find meditation through you and many others. I am here in 2023. Some I know are not. Grace has given me the gift of life.

I’ve been following you Nick for a few years now. My
anxiety/ symptom journey has been simple … but not easy. And long. I have had to dig so deep into myself and look at everything and everyone that has crossed my path. You could say…
I have had to rebuild myself @69, and put ALL the pieces of myself( new self) back into an improved fortified container. It has taken me through many difficult and deep valleys. It feels as though I have been climbing up a mountain side slowly with no shoes… or clothes.. but somehow I know there is a place to sit in the sun and trees, and be quiet and smile. I think the word is …” peace”. And yes… I too remember you and thank u when I make my bed every morning. I actually did already… but my mindfulness changed now. It’s lovely to do it
“ this way” now.

Beautiful Gift, Nick. I have been chanting every morning since February (and making my bed). I also no longer celebrate my birthday, but serve instead. I am retired at 55 and have devoted my last 2 years to service, study, meditation and GROWTH toward happiness. This retreat is a much needed gift for the community.
