I’ve had my 700 Zgrill for 6 years now and haven’t had to replace a single part. For the quality, function, and price, I’d recommended this grill to anyone and will purchase another one when the time comes.
Hey bro I hope your channel blows up in a positive way, your content is professional, clear, concise and not a 15 minute video about YOU and actually about the product. Great job
Thanks for the review, really helped me narrow this down.
This review is by far the most complete review of the Z pellet smoker. As an engineer, I appreciate the thoroughness. Thank you for a great video
Love the all the details! I look forward to checking out all the other reviews in this series :)
Thanks Jason!
Awesome review -- detailed without the fluff
Great review. Thanks! 😀
My wife just got this grill for me didn't put together yet but can't wait to use it
Congratulations for making the most thorough and helpful grill review on CZcams! How does the steel thickness compare to more well -known brands like Traeger, do you know???
Im pulling the trigger on a Z Grills 7002C3E because of your great video. Is $459 a good price for this model?
My first smoker I've had one of these for a bit over a year works well with no real complaints. I was first going to do the Zgrill mystery box, but didn't want to leave things to chance as there were certain features I wanted like a pellet clean out and the PID, so picked this one instead. When I first assembled it, the fixed wheels were welded off center a little so that when you moved the grill, it would shake back and forth. I contacted Zgrill and they sent out 2 new legs which fixed the issue. I also bought the blanket that goes with this grill and that helps in winter with pellet consumption and holding temps but i've left it on for the summer too. I took out the finger guard because its annoying and sometimes I need to poke or push pellets down in the hopper. Now I also have a bullet/acorn smoker that I don't really like because the water pan makes a mess (with or without water) and a weber grill I've used for smoking/grilling. It's a slippery slope. 😉
slippery slope indeed djaric. I feel you there.
I just ordered the mystery box. I was planning on getting the smaller/cheaper z grills smoker anyways so it was a no brainer for me. I'll be pretty stoked if I get lucky and get this model
What did you get my I just ordered the mystery box also
But will it rust before the summer is over?
How does this compare with the rec teq rt-340?
Zgrills are a great pit
I am torn on a z grill or a grilla like them both watched ton of videos just can't decide do you have any advice?
They both make great grills, but I'll tell you I just noticed that Grilla is having a 25% off sale right now that's pretty epic: grillagrills.pxf.io/JzPe6e
Just got this from Safeway at 75% off! Paid just over 100 bucks for it
Just bought this grill from Shaws for 200 bucks it was 75% off.
Do you have a link or any more info on how to obtain this deal?
I also bought mine at 75% off from Safeway (grocery store). I happened to buy the last one which was the floor model for an additional 10% off. $197 out the door! SMOKIN deal!!
@@rodznreelz6858 "smoking". I see what you did there
Scott Bouffleur I j8st seen this now..at the time I believe they were all sold out.i bought the last one at the location I was at.
I just bought mine from safeway on 75% off discount + employee discount it was 179$ out the door.
It noticed that the on the right side of the grate, that it was bent. What happen?
That is how it was when we opened the box. Quite a few of the models that we used in this roundup came with dents and dings right out of the packaging.
What about the biscuit test? To me, even cooking is extremely important
You'll really enjoy the video that's coming out on our channel today or tomorrow where we run the Biscuit test on this grill and 4 others under $599.
It was a real let down,i bought 1 last week. Set temp to 350. And it shut off half way thru the cook, for no reason. I had to start dinner all over again,
Is Traeger overpriced? Are these just as good?
The primary difference between a Traeger and a ZGrills is the wifi functionality. Traeger's app is pretty much second to none, and you can run the grill from the app. ZGrills is closer to what Traeger was before they went very app and wifi focused in my opinion.
Too bad it doesn't have a sear feature like the pit boss
Yeah, the sear feature is interesting in these units. I find in real life use, I don't use them much since I'm almost always cooking for 4+ people, and the sear areas are just too small to be practical. I could see it being helpful for someone cooking for just 1 or 2 people, but much more than that, and you're looking at having multiple rounds of cooking with food getting cold while you're cooking the second batch, and I tend to drop on a set of Grill Grates, kick up the temperature and do it all at once.
@@TheBarbecueLab the sear feature on the Austin XL is a decent size and after the searing it's big enough to set aside on the grate or better yet on the sides if the top rack to keep warm. Overall looks like a grills are great and I would definitely consider one if I didnt care about searing
Is it possible that if we don't want to use the electric plug because we want to use real wood chips?
I would suggest still using wood pellets for the fuel for the grill, since wood chips would break the auger. If you wanted to use wood chips for extra smoke, I'd recommend this amzn.to/3QhNI3U to put wood chips in and place it on top of the grate while you're cooking. The wood pellets will run the grill at a consistent temperature and the wood chips will smoke in your cooking chamber for extra smoke.
ok, smoker... would recommend Traeger especially for Customer Experience. I had paint bubbles shrugged off by Z Grills customer service, leaking grease from poor seam welds, and the temperature can fluctuate 20 plus degrees from selected temp and external temp probes. Customer service pushed my concerns with so many "try this" or "see if it continues, when you...." finally the warranty ran out and that was the last excuse they needed.
