I struggled with addiction several years ago. The lyric “I drink because I’m lonesome and I’m lonesome because I drink” is so profound.
It describes, at least for me, the emotional and psychological hell that addiction causes.. and also WHY I kept using despite almost ruining my life.
Chris is a genius. This song is incredible in every way.
His new song "Watch you burn" is amazing. He wrote it about the mass shooting in Vegas at that country show a few years ago.

Yes he was with Steeldrivers they have some great music they made together I love the fiddle in this band sounds like a lil bit bluegrass , I’m from Eastern KY him and Tyler Childers are the best who have came outta these hills in a minute , they’re a lot a like but also very different, Chris Stapleton is bluesy and soul , Tyler Childers is very poetic & BLUEGRASS, go listen to him if you haven’t yet Lady May , Chris also has a lot of music that isn’t sad n crying n your beer , he’s done music with PINK! & JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE
