    I fill my SunSun 302 (exactly like an AquaTop) to an inch from the brim with tank water, reattach the motor and hoses, open the lines and plug in. I never have to touch that blue button, it just starts right up. I will rock the unit back and forth to get the air bubbles out, but I don't need to mess with the prime button at all.

    If you use the water skimmer, you will have to reprime when a water change is being done or just cap it until you are done changing the water.

    Thank you so much. I was able to figure out what was wrong with my new filter after viewing your video. I ended up replacing the intake piping which I could not get airtight (even after capping the skimmer) with a very short length of tubing ending with the intake strainer. It did take a couple minutes of pumping even after that, though.

    is it best to have inlet and outlet pipes at either end of tank or same end?

    hello. i have the cf-300. i have always taken the impeller out when doing a clean.This last time i did this we cant get the impeler cap to go back on.i actually busted an impeller shaft trying to get the lid back on.I Just received a new impeller i purchased from True aqua. We are not anle to get the cap to go in flush,Do these have a habbit of warping or anything? let me know if you have heard of this problem,Thanks

      +TheCrashdawg The impeller shaft has rubber grommets on both sides. Make sure that there are no obstructions in the impeller housing or in the impeller cover which would prevent the shaft to be installed properly. +Gar Cox Sorry to hear about that! Make sure that you have an air tight seal on the Inlet tubing side before priming and once the unit is primed, gently rock the canister filter front to back and side to side to eliminate any trapped air inside the canister. If you still experience any issues, feel free to give us a call at 888-915-2782 Mon-Fri 9-5pm PST.

    How many times should I need to depress the pump, before it starts doing it, itself?

    • @stevenschuemann1643

      Steven Schuemann Is the valve lever up or down, when it is open? I finally unlatched the cover and the water gushed down the tube. After it was latched back up, it worked fine. Cannot figure out what was wrong, but I am happy it is working now.

    Do you fill this with water then prime it ? No instructions in the box !

    • @AquaTopVideos
      @AquaTopVideos  Před 9 lety

      Greg Bikevinyl No, the canister filter should be completely empty of water before priming. The important thing to remember is that your inlet tubing must be air tight and your canister filter must be located below your aquarium. That way, you can create a vacuum when pressing the priming button and gravity will help draw the water into the canister filter. We can also be reached at 888-915-2782 Mon-Fri 9-5pm Pacific Time.
