I moved from mainland to kauai years ago. Rasing kids on an island has been amazing. Almost no crime, cookouts and bon fires on the beach almost daily, endless fresh fruits and vegetables. The connection to nature is unbeatable! Life on the mainland was so fast paced. Island life is so much slower so I am able to soak up more of my kids while they are so little. Being able to garden all year round and be surrounded by goats, horses, chickens, Buffalo, cows is a dream!
La’a is such a great help! My son is always in the kitchen with me too lol. Definitely important to teach our boys that cooking isn’t only for girls/women!

Love that the kids are taking part in the meal prep. Maybe the food prep company should do a new category of ‘family meals’ that kids can get excited about ordering, prepping with parents, and eating!
Ayla is a natural dancer! She was amazing. Knew the whole dance without every looking at Addie. Way to go baby girl! 🔥

i was born and raised in Waimanalo,Hawaii and right before I turned 30 my hubby and I moved to Las Vegas . we have been here for 19 years raising our two girls🤙🏻

Aww🥰 this took me back when my 13 and 14 year old teenagers were babies 😊 I've always taught them that chores and cooking will benefit them their entire life. ALSO...Kudos on teaching him how to use a knife!

and sold our family home last June we bought a smaller house in the same neighborhood as our daughter And we love it we weren’t sure we were making the right decision
But we went for it
we did it !!👍and we love it life is good now we live near our two granddaughters Isabella is 3 and Isla is 8 months
we have six grandchildren in all

You followed your heart. Kinda what happened with me. I moved from Southern California to Las Vegas last September. I’ve lived here before and I missed the desert weather. Something shifted during the pandemic. Everything lined up too well and I was able to buy a brand new home. Like you said, your family will always be there.🙂
I feel that your move to california has been really good for your kids. Ayla really did well with her dance and La'a loved cooking with you. Jessica's kids are like siblings to your kids. We'll done on making your dream happen

Omg I’m not sure how I came across this video but I’m glad I did because it speaks volumes. We use to go to school together! 7th and 8th grade at Kailua Intermediate then I moved back to the mainland. And all I ever do is talk about Hawaii. One day I’ll be back for good 💛

U can use tht can lid trick to help kids with cutting. If u save the pull lid top of can n u put ur finger tho loop n it works as a guard. Maybe Google to see photos. Love from uk xx

I understand you feeling like living on an island. I'm a religious Jewish single mum living in London. 4 years ago we went on a vacation to Melbourne Australia for 3 weeks. Whilst there I really felt on a desert island. So far from other Jewish communities. 2 hour plane from a small religious community. The next mestest 9 hours East was L. A and 10-12 hours west was a religious community on Russia .

It is so true! Leaving Kailua, best decision ever! Road-trips are the best. Born and raised its all I knew and I had to learn different things that happen on the mainland. Probably the funniest thing was the first time I visited the mainland is that I couldn’t just get fruit punch as a fountain drink lol because that isn’t real at restaurants, like it is basically at every restaurant in Hawaii 😂
