I would like to tell a small story about Walt Parazaider. In 1978 I was 16 y and travelling from Belgium to California. My parents were very wel acquainted with mr Nudie who had this amazing clothing store in Hollywood with customers like John Lennon, ZZtop, Dolly Parton etc etc… One day I stood in front of mr Walt Parazaider. We had a small conversation but what I remembered was the respect as an international known artist he treated me. God bless Mr Walt !!! Grrs from Belgium

You can blame the Nashville studio scene for that. The producers manning the gates now all want perfection. And they get it. But unfortunately sometimes at the expense of feel.
This is my favorite video of Chicago. Robert Lamm was so sexy. I have loved them since 1970. Today Robert Lamm is still awesome. I still cannot get enough of Chicago. Long live the originals. God bless Chicago

Right after I pray and thank God for the beautiful life he’s allowed me to enjoy I let joy and happiness flow inside my brain listening to the Greatest Band/Orchestra of all times: Chicago. I had a very complicated surgery last year, on the edge of the other side. I begged the floor chief doctor to let me go home to die in peace, but at home. He agreed and released me. Immediately in my brain this song exploded and I returned home, thanking God for another chance to enjoy the greatest gift: Life
I put the following comment a couple of years ago, and it bears repeating: "Why can't anyone make music so full of LIFE like this anymore? What happened to the inspiration that was in the air in the seventies? Music made then, has transcended time. Music made today isn't music, compared to this masterpiece!" Came back to this today, and it is just wonderful and uplifting, especially in this upside down world of today! This music can raise the dead! I am thankful for having had this wonderful music as a soundtrack of my life while growing up. Love to all.
Fernando Iturburu - Robert Lamm has been singing this song from 1969 to present day. The brass section (1967 - present day) is still the same, except for Walt Parazaider who left in 2016.
yep Robert's voice is awesome always has been and still is, and the horn section steller. I'm born and raised in Chicago, and still live here, so I am so proud of them, my fave band since 1970.

Joan T - Only three original members that appear in this video are still in the band today. The other four have changed numerous times over the last 40 years or so. Too many to count! They had a great lineup in 1998, though.

What a really good line up, all so talented. I miss that big drum set of Triston, and the guitar of Keith H, they had big shoes to fill along with Jason.
Lee is criminally overlooked and underappreciated. A trumpet virtuoso, he has a gorgeous, open, bright sound and incredible technique that only the best achieve. If Lee hadn't hooked up with Chicago or another rock band, he'd be in a major orchestra, a brass quintet like The Empire Brass or a jazz group of some kind. Thank god he has a rock and roll heart and became a charter member of the one of the most talented group of musicians ever.
I agree with your comment to a point. I believe Robert…Jimmy…Walt..and Lee have all contributed to the longevity to the group. All are very talented in their own right and god love them….I cannot get by a day…with out the music of these guys!
Lee is great but I always thought his playing was too reserved. I know he has to stay in his lane to some degree, but I favor someone like Lew Soloff with BS&T. Exciting player compared to Lee who was a bit bland (sorry Lee).

No, he's not a million note modal scale guy like Soloff and countless other trumpeters, thank goodness, even though I'm a huge fan of Lew and the other players. And he doesn't live in the stratosphere like the trumpet screechers, as Soloff fancied himself (even though his dramatic high note on "Spinning Wheel" was really weak.) Lee can go high when it's warranted, no problem. He just doesn't live there. Chicago's music doesn't need that style of soloing. If you judge Lee solely on his soloing style, you're missing out on the amazing musicianship and instrumental art he brings to everything he plays. Go back and listen - on headphones - to his stunning tone qualtity and classical technique on Canon; the pure production, the gorgeous fluidity and effortless jumps in range. I guarantee you, Soloff couldn't match it. There's also a nice bluesy quality to Lee's playing. He knows all the ornaments and techniques, jazz, classical or otherwise, and plays them all effortlessly and tastefully, staying absolutely true to the music, whatever the style. There's that taste word again. It applys to everything Lee plays. Obviously, I'm a huge fan of Lee Loughnane, and I bet you are, too. I just think of Lee as a great player -- a tremendous player - in his own right. Really, I love them all. What variety there is to appreciate in musicians!
@@shawncosmos5431 A few years ago he had problems with vertigo and missed a few shows. From what I've heard lately, he's had some vocal issues... but I can't verify this. Hopefully he'll be well enough to do the upcoming tour.

@buwamoss - Why is this a big deal? Both drummers had hair loss by the 1980's. Danny chose to wear a hairpiece and Tris was wearing the long, darker one before he even joined Chicago. This song has so many great drum fills and absolutely NONE were played by Tris. Did he EVER hear the original version with Danny Seraphine on drums? Gee, what a boring drum part...The rest of the band was great.
Love the drums. The fills, occasional China crash, and nicely surprised by the splash. Ghost notes and rolls…goose bumps to hear. Drums written with passion and thought, emotion.
Saw them in concert in the 1980s. No opening band. No intermission. Two solid hours of music that blew me away.
