Bamboo Train at Battambang Province - Tourist Attraction in Cambodia

- Bamboo Train is the most tourist attraction in Battambang province. There are many international and local tourists await for their turns to try on the bamboo trains as you can see in this video. We have to wait for over an hour but still not available. it's lucky that we know a tour guide, who talked to his customers "foreign tourists" to let us go on a bamboo train with them or we don't know when we can have a bamboo train. We went there nearly 2 years ago, there're about 10 bamboo trains but now there are about 30 bamboo trains but still can't afford a large amount tourists who want to try this travel. People heard from the news that the government will rebuild a new railroad right here in 2 months so there will be no more bamboo in the future, that's why people want to try it the last time. Have you tried the bamboo train?

I live in THailand now from America. I have seen some wonderful things in Vietnam (where I spent 2 yrs 6 mos of the war) Cambodia, Laos and of course Thailand. 45 years later, and I am still heart-broken of the pain our intervention caused there. And yet, I met NOT ONE SINGLE person that was anything other than kind considerate and courteous. Even when, in Vietnam, I told them I was a vet. Or in Cambodia, which experienced an awful aftermath of our involvement there. Just cool people. I do cry sometimes about this entire thing. I am just .....I dont know....too emotional? But I do love living in Thailand. Married a Thai lady, bought a house, and here I will stay til God calls me. And my bags are packed, so I am ready when He is.

I still remember seeing a video of the ' Bamboo Train ' about a year ago.
It's a new one :-) the government will rebuilt the railroad, so there will be no more bamboo trains here in the near future :-(

One suggestion for your beautiful Khmer sceneries and places. Don't put instrumental music that would cover up the natural sound of the people and natures in those places! I and other people don't want to hear the sound of nature and life of people in those areas, we don't want to listen to all these instrumental music that cover up the natural beautiful life...

Hey asshole, I've ridden on these roads here. You know what you hear? Fucking loud ass trucks and honking and engines. It's not nice. The music is better during those parts. There aren't animals just making noises alongside the road.

I am sorry my dear foreign tourists, I don't know why they called it "bamboo train". Regular Cambodian citizen are happy when they ride on anything, literally on anything that move. Sorry, it is not an "attraction" for me.
Of course my friend. But you need to remember- Cambodians are masters of improvisation. Cambodians may see this as normal but not for us travellers as Norry is only available and native to Cambodia. Travellers don't want to see the same thing available in their native land- they want to see something unique. And somehow I'm happy to hear Cambodia will revive its railway but I'm also feel bad for with that, Norry have to go.
