Not traditional Korean wedding attire at all 😅😅 But it’s still pretty ¨̮
I would say it is more of a modernized hanbok. Korean traditional wedding attire for women would include a hwal-ot or wonsam for the top, which are usually made of red or light green silk and heavily embroidered! White is traditionally a mourning colour and would not be worn at weddings. just a fun fact from a Korean passing by ☺️

@@sharonfleshman6961 Yes! Traditionally white is a mourning colour, but nowadays due to western influences, most Koreans will wear black at funerals and white wedding dresses :) I think it's still common for people to do a western style reception and then either a smaller traditional ceremony or a hanbok photoshoot for weddings. I think the dresses shown in the video would be great in a casual wedding photoshoot

No, Koreans prefer to wear white! It is a color that represents the origin and the foundation of the people so people wore it literally everyday. White is traditionally worn daily, not just when mourning. So, it is not associated with mourning hence nothing wrong with wearing it at weddings.

I am Korean and the hanboks in this video are really beautiful! But what you have to do exactly is that all of these things are modern. Since Hanbok is a clothing that maintains tradition and is making modern development, many modern hanboks are also made. However, in Korea, traditional wedding hanboks called 'hwarot' and 'wonsam' are still used. They have mainly red, green, navy, and gold colors, and are decorated with colorful numbers and gold leaf, and are much heavier and longer than ordinary hanboks. RM of BTS once donated 100 million won to preserve the hwarot relics. Anyway, Hanbok is really beautiful.💜

Very beautiful! I love it! One thing I want everyone to keep in mind is that Hanbok has huge variety of its designs because it’s been around for over centuries. It changed a lot over time and I am guessing the one she’s wearing is very close to what we wore in Goguryeo dynasty, or it could be just fusion/modernized hanbok. Not technically a wedding wear for sure because they usually happened to appear in the most known hanbok form. Not saying hanboks were worn for specific occasions in the past, although it is now since we don’t wear much, you can wear hanbok to anywhere just like you wear your daily wear to everywhere.

as a non korean I have no idea if it is a traditional attire or if its a modernized version, but I will say I have seen some wedding ceremonies that incorporate the hanbok and let me say that I would personally choose to marry in the traditional attire rather than a white wedding dress because they are just so beautiful.

I m Chinese, I can READ certain characters on the outer most dress.
I m not here for dispute, but those characters were 金文(a version of Chinese writings) in Chinese word history, for example the little human figure with a circle as its head and its arm cheerfully raised in the air, means child(子) in 金文Chinese. When that character stood under roof-like strokes, and two hand looking shapes appears above the roof holding two calculate chips(算筹), it implies the child is learning math under a roof, ie, studying in school. That word means study, or to study.(学)
So. It’s controversial. I don’t know Korean word history. Above are things that I know. Anyone wants to talk about it?
-followup: I m back from 金文dictionary, I identified serval other words: 王、或、六、赐、白、小、入、吉、村(very similar but not identical)、周、射(very similar but not identical)。However, I also discover some characters on this dress exhibited rules that conflicted Chinese writing rules(at least Chinese writing rules in my understanding), their word part(偏旁)put in very strange way, and that from the words I understand, I couldn’t see any consistent meaning, thus I suspect words on this dress could be cut off from both Chinese and non Chinese writings.
