- Being a hero is hard work, especially when you start out with just the clothes on your back. Here are 7 games that give you the worst start possible and then ask you to save the world. Thanks for that.

"YOU ARE AWOKEN MY CHILD"
"Yeh"
"So i get a good sword, then?"
"No."
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. You start out dead.
7 Times You Were Having A Bad Day Until Rob Showed Up
The bald helps!
Rob, my husband and I enjoy watching your feature each week. You have a 3 year old and so do we. Have you ever thought about top 7 games to introduce your kids to gaming? Just a thought
I have a 4 year old and I've tried Crash Bandicoot and let her fool around a little with Steep since we live in a year-round sunny island. But I'll like to also hear some ideas!
Great idea. I was introduced Mario 64, StarFox and Goldeneye 64 by my parents. Amazing childhood!. Now im planning to introduce Spyro remastered to my future child.
Ive a 2 year old who sucks at all FPS games. I make him cry all the time... He's such a Noob
My wife says to go easy on him but I'm just preparing him for the online community :)
Knack 2 was a great introductory co-op for my daughter. Colorful, simple and the puzzles are fairly easy so she got to help instead of just riding shotgun.
Agree, I got two 5 year olds and an 8 year old and I always have difficulty finding a game they can play
Rob's Crystal Palace support shining through with that sly dig at Brighton.
I literally gasped and said "HOW DARE YOU!?" haha
Wait, someone was legitimately able to successfully lockpick in Kingdomcome: Deliverance...?! 😱I think I just witnessed history
I think it was a glitch?
Adan Rayner Haha! Probably!
If you notice, there is an exact milisecond were you can see someone accessing the games code and forcing it unlocked.
If that's history I'm the Stalin of lockpicking, I spent a sad hour figuring out that bs so I could steal from the man who gave me a place to stay
Gid The Cook Same here, the only way I ever made any money was by stealing weapons from the blacksmith and sealing them to that one sketchy blackmarket farmer 😂 I could never get the hang of lock picking though so props to you 🙌
In infamous you start out at as a nobody, granted in an explosion, but still nobody. As the second game states it, someone you'd never notice, a guy delivering packages to folks you'd never know. Then by the end of the game you're either the hero of the city or as the title states, infamous.
Rob, there is no way you picked that lock in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. It's humanly impossible.
The Therapist Gamer its pretty easy tbfh.
I've done it but it takes so long
It takes a long long time to git gud. It feels like learning a skill in real life.
@@fezziwig184 I can confirm it’s easier to pick an actual lock than doing it in this game
I remember when PS Access first started out. Lvl. 1, nothing but a loincloth and a pointy stick as they stared out at the beautiful yet frightening land of CZcams. Now they're rocking lvl. 50 Grandmaster wolven aromor, wielding a maxed out gunblade and ready to Omnislash the hell out of any boss foolish enough to challenge them. Keep it up Rob, let's go for lvl. 100!
When PS Access started, there was a feature, that was lost with time, from the head of Ron. :]
Will VeryGoodGameSoft be at E3 this year? Im waiting for a sequel to Shoot the Cool Gun.
You mean Shoot the Cool Gun 8? I think there's 7 already
Shoot the Cool Gun 8 came out last year. Shoot the Cool Gun 9 is rumored to get a release date at E3 this year
Beani Birb nah the STCG 3 remake is coming out before that
The Dark Chronicle games literally start you as some random boy in a town tasked at saving the world. Hell your first weapons are a basic dagger in 1, and a wrench in 2.
Horizon zero dawn is also a good example. Aloy is literally birthed into the world by a machine, left on the floor in a mountain, then completely outcasted by Nora.
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is my favorite game of all time. Glad to see it got some light on PS access again.
@Corey Stokely Yes but to be fair Skyrim is amazing.
This is a bit of a bit of a gripe of mine as it involves a game I'm very familiar with, being Mount and Blade: Warband.
I know the game plays up how difficult it'd be to play as a woman, but if you know what you're doing, it's actually easier than playing as a man in the mid to lategame, with the only difference being that you get a slower start.
Long story short, in the base game (some mods change this) there are no female warrior Lords. All noble ladies are doing the administrative court thing, as they did in that setting. That means that to be taken seriously as a female leader in combat and a Lady in your own name, you need more "renown", being a numerical score attached to winning difficult battles, doing quests, winning tournaments, etc. However, women characters have one major advantages, and that is marriage. When you marry a Lord, they will come with their own territories, and if that includes a castle or town, you can garrison your troops in them AND he'll pay for them! This is ridiculously good, since early troop management costs and morale loss due to having too many troops at once in your active party (the cap is increased via the Charisma stat, leadership skill also based on Charisma, and renown) are probably *the* earlygame hill to climb before you start taking over the world.
Since ladies are not landed nobles in the game, there's no such option for you as a man, and the husbands in the game will allow you do to all the court politic arranging things that wives do (since otherwise you wouldn't have access to them as a woman).
So, in my humble opinion, if you know what you're doing, playing as a woman is easier, but that may be my M&B veteran talking who knows how to exploit the system for my benefit.
That was by far the best opening to the any Friday feature. Great job Rob and Dave!
I missed Horizon Zero Dawn on this list... The Nora are the tribe most looked down upon, and Aloy, poor Aloy, starts as an outcast even! Those were harsh times...
She starts in a really bad spot but not as a nobody. After the tutorial she supposedly has been training for years
Yeah, she's not a nobody. She's still really hard.
Kingdom Come Deliverance, you can't even f*cking read!
It’s been a really rough week for me. Thank you playstation access for making it a little better.
Thanks access team for your great content having a rough time at the moment but you guys really cheer me up thanks👍👍👍
@Mass Debater 🤔😅😂😂😂😶🤣🤣 bruh 😅😂😂😁🤣
7 games you'd rather walk through than teleport/fast travel or use save points.
Skyrim is one.
Ghost of tsushima
Spider-man ps4
I think Ratchet & Clank is a pretty good option for this list. Ratchet starts off as a mechanic (something like that) in a workshop bored as hell, living his life when Clank comes crashing in. Then throughout the series you become a known hero within the entire galaxy.
It’s fantastic how you are able to think of a new idea each week Rob!
The sign the Weekend is here!
If Kingdom Hearts 2 isn’t on here I’ll be disappointed
I’m disappointed
Yeah Roxas is literally a Nobody
On the Oblivion entry, that's pretty much how your character starts out in *every* Elder Scrolls Game. Though I suppose Daggerfall is a bit of an improvement as you're a shipwrecked spy rather than a random lowlife in a dungeon. And you're a *released* prisoner on a top-secret mission in Morrowind, though that doesn't mean anyone gives you or your mission any respect.
I do love me some KC:D! The satisfaction of becoming a fully fledged knight by the end is so satisfying when you consider how you can’t even lift a sword in the beginning.
You guys should do a video on over looked areas in games. I say this because I was playing Bloodborne and just found out about Cainhurst Castle.
Enjoy the suffering when you get to Martyr. Hands down the 2nd toughest boss in the game. Almost a tie.
@@hurricaneheli79 not even top 5..
Also Divinity Original Sin 2 you start as slave and you become Divine :), What an epic RPG.
That game sucks.
@@420sakura1lol, have you even played it XD. More depth than most games, a great world with rival factions, a magic system that is integral to the plot and unique, and characters so well written i literally started the game over because i messed up and made one of my party members (lohse) kill hundreds of people, and i wasnt mad at the game, i was mad at myself for forcing them to feel like they needed to
@@420sakura1 Well we know you; a. Didn't play it, b. Don't like turn-based games and didn't play it, c. Didn't play it.
@@BigCowProductions or D. Played it on normal and got destroyed/ragequit.
@@darkshadow5581 Ive been looking for a new game to play. Haven't played many isometric rpgs. But that honestly sounds really cool/awesome and I've only heard good things about the game. Especially because it sounds like theres a ton of choice rather than a fully set path that you always have to walk down. This is for sure gonna be my next purchase
I gotta say, I love starting out with as little as possible. It really does feel amazing when you're at the end of the game and you can see how far you've come.
It’s been over two years, and this series is all I need!
That intro reminds me of 007: Shooty shooty gun gun
If Kingdom Hearts 2 isn't in the video I am going to be mad.
Edit: I'm mad
Lmao the edit 😂🤣
Me too
I mean, you do start out as a literal NOBODY.....I don't think it's quite what they meant.
Your pun upsets me
😅😂😂😂😁🤣
The one that comes to my mind is Final Fantasy XII. In fact, you can really question if Vaan is ever a "somebody." He's a poor boy at the start, and I don't recall his situation ever changing after having this big adventure with royalty and heroes.
love that Kingdom Come and Warband gets some screen time here. Love the vid as always!
And here I thought they would put Roxas from kh2 in as a joke lol
Oh very good
heh puns are fun
Unless I'm remembering wrong, there's Dragon Age Inquisition and DBX 1 + 2 , Far Cry Primal, Infamous 1+2, Mafia.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, as you actually wake up on a mountain of corpses.
You may start out with nothing, although I wouldn't say you're a nobody. You're a valuable asset to the research at the Well of Souls but your existence makes you a high priority target of the Tuatha, who end up following you across the land. You are someone who didn't ask for this though, so another one of those unfortunate protagonists!!!
Back when this channel was still a nobody, Rob still had hair on the top of his head
Ahhh those were the days...
facts
7 hairstyles Rob wishes he has.
@@AlmightyPolarBear Just need to buy the latest wig dlc. :D
@@AlmightyPolarBear I think Rob secretly hates you 😂
@@John-Ng Why do you say that? XD
In KC: D, your character is not even equipped with literacy.
What's KC???
@@yourfriendlyneighbourhoodl6206 it's KingdomCome: Deliverance
Oh no sir rob. Cj wears a white beater......and he could have been somebody, he could have been remembered forever like Big Smoke......all.he had to do was follow that damn train
In the UK, wife beaters are called vests
A few days ago,i got suggested this channel.Since that i watched a few dozen videos. And while i was watching, started to wonder why i like this so much.Good content, down to earth commentary and the main thing,a british voice! There is something in that accent which gives some extra boost to commentary. Also i just love it.Hope this will be running for years. Also, from elder scrolls,i would say that Skyrim is worse, there you start as someone that stands in line to lose his/her head. There is Kingdoms of Amalur, where you are starting as someone who just gotten dumbed as a lifeless corpse down to the rest of your kind. :]
In KH2 you start out as a Nobody...quite literally.
I was expecting to see Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning on this list, but still great choices anyway. In that game, you are dumped into a pile of corpses at the start. Still one of my favourite games from the PS3.
Roxas instantly, since he's literally a nobody. Gabriel Beaumont came to mind..
Also, it's dangerous to go alone, take this stick. Godspeed.
That was the best opening to a video I think I've ever seen. Kudos to the team guys, you've outdone yourselves this time.
Hello youve caught me . . . Not saying hello youve caught me!? Great video I just picked up KCD again last weekend to start a new one. Love that game
I am such a nerd, when I saw the title all I thought about is the beginning of kh2...
This title reminds me of myself...
Also, you know who started off as a nobody? Delsin.
@@markiep8477 Shhhh...
I'll edit it now haha
Still waiting for Delsin’s return...
@William LaMascus Actually I meant Delsin Rodent haha
Great video! Hard week at work, rewarded with a video from the main man 💪🏼
Hi Rob your Friday features have made me fall in love with metal gear so thank you so much
Rob i've never heard your opinion about Metal Gear Survive
we dont talk about that here
freek hoogveld I think you’re confused. That game doesn’t exist. It was just a collective bad dream we all had remember?
what’s that?
@@thewerewolff7248 Metal gear... Something Something...
I don't think I remember that one...
That actually came out? 😲
I see a Friday feature I watch Friday feature instantly
Rob, can I just say in a non-sarcastic manner it was refreshing to have a list on 7 games that we don’t hear about often in the Friday feature👏🏽😁❤️love the vids keep them coming. And also, regular PES master league videos ?
Dope video as always 🔥
Honestly you guys deserve wayyy more subscribers...keep up the great work 👌
Two words: "Where's Gothic?"
Here's another example ~
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (the start/beginning of this game is quite interestn....
& also II some degree ~
Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen
&
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Dragons dogma to some degree yes but the character still gets over hyped when they say he or she is a arisen lmao
I have a game where you start out as a nobody. Actually, you start out as a dead nobody in Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning. You wake up from being dead with no weapons, shields, magic or armor and is already being hunted by the minions of the bad guy.
Also, as Luke and Ellen from Outside Xtra can comfirm, your weaponry is all rusted.
(Edit) Your first weapon is all rusted
Kenshi is another great example of starting with nothing. The base game even comes with a start that begins you in a slave camp that you need to escape from with your literal 0 stats that you need to work up until you are strong enough to either fight out, or far easier, sneak out. But wait! You won't make the walk anywhere because they didn't feed you while in captivity!
Anybody know where I can get hold of Complete the Magic Quest 1 - 26?
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you start as a nobody I'm Far Cry 3. I'm sure there are others but that's the first game that came to mind.
To a degree yes but remember Jason is still known as a rich college boy and gets offered weapons almost instantly. Like the whole rakyat suck him off when they hear he escaped vaas camp
Rob: in minecraft you are just a nameless nobody
Steve: sad mining noises
Awesome video & content as always 😁.
Rob you missed KINGDOM HEARTS 2 YOU LITERALLY START AS A NOBODY
I KNOW RIGHT!!!
womp womp woooooomp
I see what you did there.
Even Toph saw what you did there
Umm Roxas started as a dual keyblade wielding badass
Nice pun though
What about Fallout 3. You literally start the game having just been born and dont even have a name yet. Cant imagine you get more nobody than that.
Face Man imagine just being a mailman that was just shot in the head. A baby is less of a nobody than a deadman
The opening credits killed me😂😂
Suikoden 2. You start as a peon in the military, end up as a prisoner of a rebel group and then work your way up in leadership. You can even watch your camp grow as you rank up and collect people for your army. I miss that game.
Hey Rob! I love your Friday feature, it’s the best!
I recently moved to japan... and I don’t know how to break this to you, but this comes out on a Saturday.... I’m sorry. Saturday Feature doesn’t have the same ring to it, any ideas on what to call it for us japan dwellers? 👍 Keep being great! Cheers!
Frostyblade 88 That’s better than my first thought of “Almost Friday Feature”
The Saturday Seven (since there is almost always 7 items in the list)? haha
I’ve ALWAYS loved games that essentially let you start out as a standard NPC-level nobody
I love you guys’ videos! Thanks for the consistent amazing content. I’m a fan.
Loved the little dig at Palace’s arch-rivals, there, Rob ...
Should've put Kingdom Hearts 2 in this list Rob
playing an oblivion clip is cruel i need this on my ps4 and im not talking about psnow
"So, my child...you, have *awoken* !"
"...yehh."
This intro is perfect, well done!!
If there is not a sort-of pun about KH2 in here......
UMM WHERE’S ROXAS
You have made like almost 200 of these and they are still creative!!
Fallout new Vegas should have made this list
And fallout 3 I mean your character is a sheltered kid that's grows to become a legend
Um. Where is Kingdom Hearts 2? You *literally* start as a Nobody.
Paul Sullivan Yeah, you would’ve thought it would be here. Having a “literal” joke.
Hailing from Amerca. Love the videos Rob! Id love to see what kind of video you could make on For Honor. Have you played it?
Kingdoms of amular! You start out dead, in a pile of corpses, waiting to be burned.
Do 7 games that are oldschool in the soul but in a new skin. Like Pillars of Eternity os PS4. Thanks!!1
WAIT, don't we start of as a useless pice of dirt in every game or is that just me. Its probably me since i end as a useless pice of dirt anyway.
1:51 Is that Darryl in the cell at the Sanctuary listening to "EASY STREET"?!
The intro had my laughing nonstop rob looked just like gandalf
You forgot Kingdom Hearts 2
I mean, you start off as a Nobody in Kingdom Hearts II.
my gawd i love these videos.
Great video, as always Rob! However I'm surprised you didn't mention Far Cry 3
Kingdoms of amalar,
come on you start off dead lmao.
You forgot elder scrolls 5 skyrim you start out as a prisoner about to be executed before you pick your class
James Cornett Ye but your the dragonborn and in the first few hours you learn a strong power he means when your literally a nobody
The graphics for Complete the Magic Quest XXVII ~ Really Very Special Edition ~ are mindblowing!
Rob has completely gotten into my head because the first thing I thought with the intro sketch was "oooh, look at the water graphics"
Rob, do a kingdom hearts only Friday feature
No one is more of a nobody than Rey from StarWars. 😂🤣😂
Thanks Disney.
The writing in These Videos are always Terrific👏..Top Notch🔥
Most of these are my favs and now I'm nostalgic
I can’t stop watching these videos 😭 HELP ME!?
Oh hello, you’ve just caught me rotting on PlaystationAccess!
YES OBLIVION!!!! That game is underrated! We need more Oblivion videos
Oblivion was a great game, it's one of my all time favorites
@@thedoomslayer185 same
Thanks for starting my weekend off, AGAIN 👍🏻
More intro skits please! Love this one
Holy hell, I've played Mount and Blade for like, 5 years! Never heard it mentioned by Rob before! That's awesome!
